why, when playing multiplayer, with a deck that has 35/35 cards unlocked, do I sometimes get a message that I have unlocked a card when I win..?

I still love the game but it is STILL an unstable mess on my iPad 1G even with a fresh reboot in airplane mode with nothing else playing and all options minimized (no hlep, animations, or foil effects). :(

I found another bug ... this time with these codes.
They do not persist. I entered them. But after closing the app and opening it the day after only code 4 stayed. I went back to xx/31 cards unlocked!!!

This will be very annoying as it means I need to enter 9 codes every time the app restart

That happened to me once too--not sure why (maybe because I didn't go to deck manager?) but after re-entering the codes it stayed, so hopefully it will work for you also.

So after I pay the $10 to unlock stuff, I still need to pay $1 to unlock the 7 other decks?!

No. You unlock the decks by playing — each time you win a match, you get a new card. You only need to pay the extra bucks if you want all the cards unlocked right away without fighting for them. ;)

Oh good, so I don't need to fork out anything beyond the initial $10.

How far do you have to get to unlock the 4th deck and beyond?

After paying 10 bux, decks can be unlocked without many problems by playing few campaign duels. If you want to unlock the additional 30 cards for each deck you will only have to win 300 times with the appropriate decks. Or you can just shell out another 10 bux. I would never guess that Wizards would nickel and dime their clients in such a lame way. Well, gj I guess, money makes the world spin you filthy bastards.

You beat the opponent that has the deck to unlock it. Each time you win with a deck, you get an additional card for it, up to a total of 30.

Yeah, you have to play 300 rounds to unlock all the cards for all the decks, but this isn't a game where you grind to power up your deck or something like that, and bigger isn't better (many people recommend keeping your deck at either 60 or 61 cards).

Especially with the 10 promo cards per deck which are generally better than the regular unlocks, you shouldn't run into problems with having an underpowered deck in the campaign, even on Planeswalker difficulty.

Well, I ran into the crashing problem some others were having where the app just shut down after the first two start screens. I am on an iPad 3, not jailbroken, updated iOS and plenty of memory to spare. I tried closing all of the apps and restarting the device, but wasn't able to get the game to load. I deleted and reinstalled the game, which got it working again, but I lost all of my unlocked decks and cards (I had unlocked all the decks and several cards for each deck). I'd say that it took about 16 hours of gameplay (as a beginner) to unlock what I had.

I really like this game, but I am reluctant to play knowing that I could lose all of my progress again. I hope this issue gets resolved, or that Wizard at least provides some way to restore the decks and cards that had already been unlocked.

    Were you mid-match, by chance?

I know that's where mine seemed to crap out ... I quit in the middle of a Planechase match and when I came back it looks as if the app just can't load the saved game, crashes and refused to start.

I ask because I'm trying to determine any pattern here so I can try to ascertain what to avoid doing (besides just not playing altogether).
    Really frustrating.

I was not mid-match. I had not played any online games, and had recently ended a losing game in the campaign. I had played a few Planechase games without a problem. I also believe that I have stopped games (both regular campaign and planechase) mid-match on prior occasions without incident.

Again the promo code did not persist.
Put of the ten cards, 9 are gone and need once again enter the codes.

This is ridiculous and very annoying. How can a silly bug like this exists. I wish I knew how to report to the developer this issue before giving up and ask a refund. After the loss of progress, annoying bug on the help button, now this .... Grrrrrr

Sorry to hear about this issue - I'll make sure the developers know about it. A few things that will help us are:

What generation of iPad are you using?
What version of iOS are you using?
Are you logged into Game Center when you enter the code?
Are you online when you enter the code?

The more information we get, the more likely we are to be able to fix the issue.

    Thanks!

    Hi Jon.

Any idea if there is a way to restore unlocked deck and card progress lost due to deleting and reinstalling to cure the crash on start-up?
