Another bug. My decks shows 63 cards. I remove one. It shows 61 cards. Remove another. It shows 60 cards. It is always 63 to 61.

Weird things happen when logging into my gc account from two ipads. I played on my ipad 3 and had finaly unlocked the last goblin card. Was having some games against the ipad 2 that was logged into another gc account. Later on, i logged back into my ipad 2 to play. My goblin deck now showed 7 cards still locked even though i had already unlocked them on ipad 3. Why isn't it updating?

Also, when logged into another account on my second ipad, there is no option to buy the entire decks at once and earn card unlocks through wins. Only seperately for 99 cents each, and then all the cards are already unlocked.

That's not a bug; check the number of lands. When you add the 62nd card to your deck it automatically adds another land as well.

...could it be that you have two of that same card in the deck, and by removing it it actually removes all cards like that from your deck? Have you tried other cards?

Just throwing it out there - it hasn't happened to me.

EDIT: Well, the Spork just answered it :) Please disregard.

So can someone confirm...are there any actual bugs in this game? Or is every bug complaint just derived from not understanding how this game works? Is there an official bug report list somewhere?

I wish there was a text log or replay option because sometimes I lose and I have no idea why or how.

There are a few bugs, including at least one that will cause the app to crash at launch making it totally unplayable; necessitating a reinstall, thereby losing all progress but Achievements.

99.99999 percent of the reported card issues are misunderstanding of rules or mechanics.

Is anyone else having the problem where if u go into the app without wifi it won't recognize that you have a GC account at all and will just make u a profile of "player" from which u can't change over to your GC account.

This completely screwed me over. Played a fair bit without an Internet connection to begin with and was just playing as "player" through the campaign. Now I log in with my GC account and the app sees me as a completely new player right from the start.

So you guys saying planechase works in flight mode, do u mean flight mode with no wifi or with wifi?? Because if it's with no wifi (no connection at all)....looks like ud be playing under the "player" profile, and anything u unlock will be assigned to "player" and not your GC account.

2nd time on Mage level playing Talrand. This time with Pack Instinct deck. Very short game that involved stomping Talrand into the ground. I was surprised at how quickly I managed to get so many Woods down - Natures Lore and Emerald Medallion helped.

Talrand responded with 2nd turn Ring of Evos Isle, however by the time the Skywinder Drake came into play, I lay down Indrik Stomphowler - goodbye Ring of Evos Isle.

I couldn't block his Skywinder Drake and his Skywinder Drake couldn't block the beasties I was laying down. I think I smacked Talrand down to -13 health at the end.

Yet again, Talrand had land after land but precious else. Not sure whether it's the AI on Mage level, or it takes Crosswinds a while to get going, or just a bad hand.

I'll play Talrand again, this time using the Crosswinds deck so that I've played with all 3 decks thus far.

P.s. Much longer game using Crosswinds but result still the same. In fact, better: flawless victory. On final turn, I reduced Talrand to -17 health! Combination of Skywinder Drake, Favourable Winds, Ring of Evos Isle (pumping Skywinder Drake) and Talrand's Invocations - four flying 2/2 which became 3/3 with Favourable Winds - was too much for Talrand. Yet again, he played a lot of land and didn't do much. He is the 1st opponent after all. On to my first Encounter ..

Loving this and so far barely scratched the surface.

Using airplane mode (no wifi, Bluetooth, etc) did not make me sign out of gamecenter at all. It still recognized me under my gamecenter account.

    Ok thanks Mike.
I'm thinking it's because I started playing without any wifi/reception and so it just created a "player" account. So now when I go wifi-less it will give me the player account....bummer.
Thinking the only way back is to delete the app/reinstall, and make sure I sign in in GC ON first time...sucks.

I'm sorry to hear this happened - I know this kind of thing is frustrating. I'm going to send this over to our devs so they are aware. They are working hard to fix the Game Center save wonkiness that is happening right now. We definitely want to make sure any progress you make is saved!

From what I've seen, the AI is really passive and gives tons of room for error even on Archmage. That's just how it is. Planeswalker is a lot more fun, although I'm not sure I'd recommend it to newbies.

I don't think the opponents get stronger per se throughout the campaign, at least in terms of how intelligent they are, so if you want more of a challenge, turn the difficulty up :)

There's definitely a bigger luck component than in the regular game, but if you're talking about the AI, they roll the die and waste their mana so often that it's usually not too hard to beat them.

Human players, though, that's another story, and I'd agree with you for sure.

Yeah, you're pretty much playing against the deck of planes cards in the planeschase mode. As a Dream Puppets deck user, winning is not all that common, simply because the AI opponents roll so much that crazy stuff like all permanents get wiped out. This really hurts the Jace deck, as the other guys just pull out a bunch of creatures in the next couple of turns, while I'm stuck looking at half of my setup in the graveyard.

Other times it's just my luck that one or two of the opponents lands a boat load of creatures from a planes effect, and because I have the smallest defense (because the deam puppets deck is not really balanced around a four play match) the AI guys always target me.

I would love to try this against real opponents, though, where stupid things don't happen... Like Garruk destroying my artifact just one turn before I used it to finish off Ajani, only to have Ajani kill off Garruk the next turn (and then eventually me). Playing against live people, rather an a bunch of logic loops, sounds awesome. That's why I'm thinking of picking this up on PS3 pr PC, so I can give it a shot. Not sure which is the better option, though.

Hey guys, we noticed that there was some confusion about the Encounters that are featured in Duels of The Planeswalkers 2013. Over on Dailymtg.com Ken Troop has written a dev diary that should help clear some of this up as well as explain the philosophy behind encounters.

    http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/feature/202b

I believe we have some other dev diaries planned as well to talk about other aspects of the game. I'll link to them here as they get posted to our website.

    Enjoy!

Jon or mike, is there any possible chance to include multiplayer for the 2 headed giant mode? Is that too much to ask? I'd love to be able to play with my wife agains the AI, even if that means we have to play on the same iPad. I know it's possible in the other magic versions, I just wish it was here. I don't mind not having 4 human players, but I was at least expecting there to be some sort of way to include this.

    Pretty pretty pretty please?

Blue control doesn't exactly do well when you have a lot of opponents, yes. Unless you just enjoy the challenge (and I do love using Jace's deck... something about milling opponents is even more fun than killing them "normally") I'd be more flexible about deck choice.

Ajani's is almost unstoppable there, and I find myself winning handily by 100-life margins on Planeswalker with it. Chandra's is less reliable but more fun.

You know, I really liked these, but they were almost all very easy, and I wish there were harder ones or something along those lines in the Revenge campaign. Maybe the ones that were apparently cut. They sound... promising?

    Thanks for your reply Jon.
To be clear my situation arose by downloading the app, but then playing it straight up with no Internet connection at all. It assigned me as "player" and not really taking notice of that I kept playing...getting the unlocks as you do. Then once I had Internet for the first time and opened the app, I was assigned my GC account, which it saw as first time playing.
So the fix needs to recognize you GC account if you play the game
For the first time without internet......I don't know...I usually open apps with an Internet connection available, but right now I'm traveling and don't have much...so played flight mode first time. Good luck

Just so there's no confusion, I'm not a Wizards employee. Wizard_Mike is just my GC name. :)

So please consider supporting the iCloud mechanism that iOS offers. That's really what is for - keeping the progress independent of the installation and device.
