The format of dotp is just perfect for me. I thoroughly enjoyed playing with real cards many years ago,but buying, building and testing decks is very time and money consuming. Wading through over a 1000 cards ( can't remember, were 2 of those special magic card boxes full)was fun back then but i just don't have the time anymore. If there ever is gonna be an online client for Ipad it will be hard to resist though.
I really like the white deck you unlock from the Odric battle. It's really balanced, but it does miss out on the higher damage/toughness creatures so end game it can be tough. I've been having fun going back with it and beating older encounters and battles.
My magic is broken . When it logs on to game center i can only see two magic cards at the edge of the screen and a blank screen, When I don't use game center i can play normally. Does anyone have the same problem and is there a solution ?
Finally... Played magic before but then stopped cos mtg communities are far from my house and the cards are very expensive. Paid 10$ right away after downloaded. Question, to build a deck for multi player, do you need to unlock them first?
Glad to hear you are getting back into Magic! Yes, to swap out more cards in your deck, you'll need to play matches to unlock cards. You also have the option to spend 99 cents to fully unlock a deck. I recommend playing through the campaign to unlock cards. It really helps you get used to the decks before taking them onto multiplayer.
how exactly do you do this..? do you target the fire servant with your burn spells..? when I got slammed this way in multiplayer, the screen read something like "damage displacement," which I had never seen before... thanks.
This is weird. I had four unplaced lands and was looking at my cards to see which one I could play if any and my turn ended! Just like that. And I could have played several cards. WTF ?!
You shouldn't have to target the Fire Servant - it should just happen. Note though that Fire Servant only doubles the damage from spells cast by the controller of Fire Servant, not everyone's
Were the cards in your hands instants? If so, you need to stop the timer to play them. The game won't automatically stop for instants in your hand, as you usually play them in response to your opponents spells instead of in your main phase.
Turn 'hold priority' on in the advanced section of the settings. That way you have to confirm to end your turn.
Or bug fixes? Also, is there any plans on an option to turn off the fireworks effects in planeschase mode so that us playing on the iPad 1 can play the planeschase campaign? That would be superdy-duperdy awesome!
Unfortunately I can't provide any timing on DLC or bug fixes. I'll be sure to keep you all updated though!
Hi Jon, Could you give ipad players the option to turn off AI Takeover for online matches? or accept a win? It's a bit annoying to be forced to play against the AI when a player concedes early in a match. Thanks. Nick
While you're at it, pass on how awesome they are for making an iPad version of this. I've been out of the Magic scene since the 90's and had never heard of Duels of the Planeswalkers before. The only reason I'm playing 2013, or even know about it, is because it's on the iPad. And I'm loving every second of it! This is hands down the most exciting game of the year for me. And that's saying a LOT, coming from a zealous Diablo fanboy.
No they were monsters and up Neil now I needed to either use all my lands or click n continue to move on. That is why it was weird.
Not that this guarantees anything and I'm obviously not him, but DotP 2012's expansion was released 3 months after the base game, so I wouldn't be surprised if this one followed suit.
