Ok so I am ready for some multiplayer action. Got two sets completely unlocked. I prefer multiplayer planes if anyone wants to go at me. ID is kleptoid. And please don't quit when you are losing
OK, not sure if the developers are listening to this thread, but it would sure be nice if it explained about the manual mana tapping method of just tapping on the card once to change the pools. It was driving me crazy with some of the challenges that the cards were tapping in weird splits when I just wanted certain mana pools to be drawn from.
Hmm, it told me about it! There was a pop-up first time it was relevant, same as for the Keywords. Maybe you missed it?
Spoiler I did it differently. I casted fling before he could attack me the first time. I got rid of his weakest creature that way. Then he only attacks with the rhino and not the spider. I couldn't figure that out because if he would have attacked with both of them and he would have won the game.
I'm on an iPad 1 and the only time my program crashes is during the planeschase duels. I've cleared the campaign and all the challenges just fine. Playing online works just as fine. Only caveat here is that I haven't tried the two-headed giant mode, but I don't think that mode will have all the fireworks effects of the planeschase duels, which is what is causing the crashes.
Thanks Wizard_Mike. I guess I'm probably going to cave in Try the airplane mode thing, or turning off GC - or both - and see if it helps with the duels. It might help, who knows! Cheers, and thanks.
I still can't figure out how to do the two headed giant mode with a human team member. It's driving me batty as I really want to try it. Please can someone help? Also, I bumped into a weird weird bug. I was playing with my wife and I like to quickly look at her cards that she plays. Well One time I did this and I lost my entire HUD. I could sort of still play cards, but it was really strange as I couldn't tap properly, I couldn't see the cards i wanted to cast against and the screen looked to be stuck in a card, with the X in the upper right corner, but clicking on it did no good. It was really frustrating. Anyone else have this?
only issue i see is with blocking. the dragging is wonky, and sometimes doesnt take (unless you release the drag exactly in the center of the target card/player). this is a non-issue in campaign, but when on the clock in online multiplayer, it can screw things up, making me miss blocks... will we be able to make multicolor custom decks, or are we limited to customizing the preconstructed decks? if he answer is no, hopefully this will be addressed in an update further down the road... re: challenge 1 the four power spiders vigilance, so he doesn't tap when attacking. let the rhino through, and block he two spiders, saving your three power creature. then use treason to get the four power spider and attack with him and the three power creature you already ad. then, fling the four power spider, and you complete your eleven point play...
Ok, I don't understand what just happened to me. I was in the encounter Righteous Anger. The AI kept killing my creatures with Lightning Helix, which deals 3 damage to a creature or me. I finally got a 3/6 Xatthrid Gorgon out in play. For several turns the AI directed Lightning Helix to damage me, because 3 damage isn't nearly enough to kill the gorgon. Then one move I tapped the gorgon so that I could put a petrification counter on one of the AI's creatures. During the AI's next turn it targeted the gorgon with Lightning Helix. To my shock the gorgon was destroyed. What just happened?
No idea, but these things happen a lot. I played white against white deck. I had that guy who puts opposing creature into 'exile. I cast him, target the other creature, and it did not put it into exile. It had no special abilities that would prevent exile from working. The card selection process when you have to go through your whole deck is really poor. The splay system is not accurate, moves too fast, and it sometimes takes many swipes back and forth before you hit the card you want to pull. Same with 'discard' from your deck. I have conceded games because I am supposed to discard cards and it won't discard them. Not crazy about blocking mode either. very easy to miss the small window of time you have to respond. have got hit many times when I intended to block. They also need to fix the random card popups that happen all the time, like highlighting my land card during the combat phase. What's the point of that?
Found another frustration with the UI. When the opponent is attacking with a boat load of creatures, the cards overlap each other a little bit. Not only does this make it hard to choose specific cards to block, but it's almost impossible to tell if you managed to select the one you were trying for. I just lost a revenge game to Ajani using the dream puppets deck by 1 turn because of this. I had his library depleted to zero, all I hade to do was survive one turn. No problem, as long as I blocked his two big guys that were able to attack. I had enough life to take the rest and live. But for the life of me, I couldn't get the blocking set correctly. Once I thought I had all the little arrows in the right place, I hit block, only to see the wrong cards get blocked!
I could swear that happened to me also one time, but I chalked it up to me being new and not understanding some mechanic that happened.
A few questions please: 1. How does planechase duel work? I see my opponent tapping lands and rolling the die multiple times per turn and I don't see myself doing that. Am I missing something? 2. How does the scoring/ranking work? I finished all, except planechase duel, getting silver on campaign and revenge, and gold on all encounters and challenges and I'm only sitting at 1900ish score on GC. 3. I'm (also) not getting the finish 10 challenges and 10 encounters achievement. Bug right? 4. Everytime I try to play multiplayer, it just goes to a scenery, changing multiple times with no button to press and nothing happening actually. Is this normal? Thanks in advance for the reply/replies. Man, this game seems to drain my battery way too FAST. Or probably I'm just burning way too many game time on this gem. @Wizard_Mike and LordGek Thanks for answering my previous questions.
Went all in on this, and am enjoying it, but suck so badly at it that I can't even beat the 2nd opponent after 5 fights now. Replaying the first opponent and the set-card event encounters to try unlocking more stuff and see if that helps. Gawd, I suck at this game. Never played it before last week.
1: on your turn, you can roll the die that's sitting next to the deck of plane cards. It free for the first roll, 1 mana for the second roll, 3 for the third, etc. 2: the encounters and challenges are automatic golds. For the othersm it depends on the difficulty setting in your options. 3: yeah, I have the same problem as well as do others. I think it's safe to call it a bug. 4: haven't experienced this myself, but I've only played three multiplayer matches, all with the same person in a single session. And yes, this does burn through the battery pretty quickly. I play with my brightness all the way down. It helps a bit.
Hi, While I can't say for sure what happened to you; were I a betting man, I'd put my money on your opponent having a Fire Servant in play. Fire Servants double the damage of any of your opponent's red instant or sorcery spells, which would double the Lightning Helix damage. Edit: As a side note, the Fire Servants are part of the gimmick for that deck and should probably be a high priority to get rid of ASAP because the opponent has a seemingly unending supply of the Lighning Helixes which heals the opponent when it damages your or your creatures.
Hi, I have played with this deck quite a bit and I have encountered "exile failures" in a few different situations. Mostly from my own in attention. 1. I tried to exile a hexproof creature. 2. I tried to exile a shrouded creature. 3. I tried to exile a creature that had an artifact attached to it which made it hexproof. 4. I tried to select the target of the exile to soon and even though there was an arrow pointing to the target, it still wasn't officially selected. (I have found the selecting the target again fixes this).
I just looked up that card and that is definitely it! I thought that that ability wouldn't be in effect because I had petrified him but obviously I was mistaken. Thanks for clearing it up!
I've actually noticed a bunch of cards from the last two expansion blocks, unless they're being reprinted in M13 (Battle Cry, for example, is an ability only seen in the Scars of Mirrodin block). It's be awesome if all of those abilities were in M13, but until we know the full card list for the Core Set, I'd say it's too early to tell if everything is from M13 or not.
