Apple approves games at all times. Developers and publishers often choose to release the games on Thursdays because that's when iTunes cycles the game of the week, new and noteworthy, etc.
Another good reason to pick your release date is that promo codes work as soon as a game is approved by Apple. That way you can send codes out to reviewers early, for the all important first-day reviews.
Yep -- much better than sending out builds with provisioning files, etc. BTW, have I mentioned how pumped I am for this game?
Can i just add: OMG OMG OMG Seriously, though- MG is probably my most-anticipated iOS game this year. I honestly can't wait to see how it's turned out.
Yeah, I'm getting really impatient waiting for this! I so want to be playing it now! It just looks incredible and exactly what I've been looking for. Awesome work, as usual, RocketCat Games!
im also very stoked for this game! this, shadowgun, and dark meadow are the apps im heavly anticipating. just one question about mage gauntlet : will it have replay value? this im curious about, it seems like an amazing campaign experience, but will there be anything to do when the story is over? like a survival mode or DLC?
Hmm, well Kepa's already told us about Master Mode, which means that the game will be good for at least two separate playthroughs. Personally i'd like to see some challenges, or endless modes- like ones where you have limited equipment or levels, and have to survive against waves of enemies, or perhaps boss rush etc.
Hi Devs, Sorry if this question was asked but i would like to know that whether this app will be a universal app sooner or later ? maybe whether is it currently being planned or sort ?I look at the whole forum on this question and saw a reply " an universal app more or less" does that mean a "yes" or "no" ? as i owned both an iphone and ipad so an universal app will definitely make me buy it instantly =)
Master Mode on release, which is a harder, remixed version of the story campaign. After that, I want to do an Arena Mode on a first content update sorta thing. I'm against making actual major content DLC (levels and modes and such), but we'll probably add a DLC item pack each update to help fund such things. Arena mode will be endless survival against hordes of enemies. Probably a theme of surviving against one of the enemy groups of the game. If the first arena mode is popular, we can add more. I don't think I'd like to limit equipment, though, can probably just add new, harder variations of existing enemies if it's too easy to survive. Yes. And OpenFeint. 86 achievements. Except, no leaderboards on release. Our first game without. Arena modes will have leaderboards, however. We have some iPad support on release, but it's a little clunky. So yes, though we did it without actually owning iPads. We can do more iPad compatability stuff in updates, as people point out what we should improve.
thanks kepa! that is great, although Arena Mode should carry over the upgrades you have from campaign mode, and you it should also reward you with cash based on how well you survive. also, Arena mode should be varied, add most of the enemies from the campaign, and i guess make a boss/mini-boss appear every 5 or 10 waves. that would make arena mode a blast. 1 more suggestion, why not support the game after release by adding more quests? after the campaign, ppl should have acquired some pretty powerful gear, so a few extra hard quests now and then will give us more incentive to replay the game for better gear or play arena mode more. just my thoughts. gonna get this game day one! thanks kepa!
