Also, reading from other posts it seems you need IAP to get the best from this game. Is this a view shared by those who bought them? I'm normally opposed to such things but I am not really enjoying the game. Maybe some of the IAP will make the difference.
The Phoenix feather is kinda worth it. Especially of you wan to 3 star the game. It sorta makes the game easier. But what I wan to know are any o the other iaps worth it? Kepa I must say I'm disappointed in the way IAPs are done. I was thinking that it would be a 0.99 or 1.99 pack for everything. Not having to pay for every little extra(even the ones that do nothing).
wish i would of read this before purchasing. o well.. not had time to play the game yet.. but we will see. chris.
If you are not enjoying the game without the IAP then you will not like it with. The IAP is just something that enhances the fun you are already having (ie: not a game-changer). I seriously love the game and bought an item to support the devs further
Oh I support devs all I can, I got this on the strength of the quick hook games. But I have just been back to the game to look at the IAP and I am kind of dissapointed. These are items that should be part of the loot, as it is I feel that I am playing a grinding game with non of the rewards. I just get the odd robe or sword now and again, nothing that changes the tedious gameplay in any way.
I think he was talking about adding a more expanded loot system for the sequel. I am definitely all for that! Anything that makes it more Diablo-y is good with me.
I sort of agree that everything should have been part of a pack for the items, but Kepa has stated that there is loot you can find which would be the equivalent to the things which are IAP. Anyways this game rules, and I can't wait for the "Arena Mode".
If you don't like the game without the IAP then the IAP wont make a difference. The effect of the IAP item may enhance some users play styles but I would be surprised if everyone used IAP trinket. I got all four IAP items and I only use two. If the game seems 'tedious' to you then maybe it's not the right game for you, unfortunately.
Saves seamlessly when you close the game or get a phone call or whatever. You don't need the IAP to play the game at all. The Phoenix Feather is only really useful over the Arcane Heart if you want to 3 star everything in master mode, I guess. I'm thinking about just making the phoenix feather a free item somewhere, and giving anyone who purchased it something else in return. Not sure what, though. What makes the game tedious to you?
I can't seem to get the Fan Pack. I've tried multiple Wifi networks today, but every time the little box says connecting for news and updates then flashes "network connection unavailable" and the Hook Worlds/twitter ad starts. No pet, no hats.
Did you try connecting to a network through the settings app before launching the game or did you just launch the game?
Actually, I'd like to answer that question. Even though I wouldn't personally go so far as to call the game tedious, (at least not yet) my enjoyment of it has taken a sharp dive after maybe an hour and a half of play. Basically, it just feels like I have settled into a very steady routine of dodge/whack, dodge/whack, dodge/whack, whack. There really doesn't appear to be much deeper strategy than that, and the spells don't break the monotony anywhere near enough. Now, this isn't a strategy game after all, and I'm perfectly fine with that. There wasn't much strategy in, say, Diablo either, but there was an incentive to dodge/whack or plink, plink, plink: drops and items. Add those to this game, (in abundance) and it would be fine. As is though, I am beginning to feel like I am just ploughing on for no particular good reason.
I really like this game but there are a couple things that are usually in games of this type that seem to be missing. (big thread probably answered) Why are the wood barrels empty? Part of the enjoyment of a dungeon game is smashing open barrels to find coins/items. Loot drops? I don't expect every enemy to drop something but getting rare drops is what usually keeps me interested.
I agree completely with this. Barrels are everywhere, and I have an obsession with smashing them, even though it's pointless. Anyways, it would be great if there were things inside them. Enemy loot drop idea is awesome too, although maybe that's in the form of XP? IDK... EDIT: Oh, and I noticed that there's no auto-orientation. Minor issue, but it gets in they way sometimes when I want to switch hand positions.
This is my first post here on TA, but I've been on MacRumors for awhile. Here's my thoughts on the game, in terms of what I think would be good to add: 1. Put something in the breakable objects (obviously random whether or not you find something). I think coins/currency would be good (I'll explain later). Monster drops would be good (possibly currency). 2. Maybe give some caps some stats? Nothing major, but it would be nice. 3. ADD A STORE! Not like the IAP store, but rather just like a general market where we could sell our unwanted swords and gowns, rings, etc. and buy other gear with currency. 4. It would be neat if pets could attack monsters or be a distraction. Otherwise, really liking the game so far. Good job!
I've connected through settings. There's definitely a connection, OpenFeint starts up fine and the IAP store is accessible. Just no prezzies.
Did the time expire on that offer? I know it was a limited deal through the weekend. Maybe it ended at 11 PM EST?
