I am playing this game right now, it's actually pretty fun. Although the graphic is almost NES like, but still fun
Does anyone have any tips for the Stage 4 boss? (Gigantic Boar thing) I seem to hit it so many times but it NEVER dies?!?!?!!? So far I've learnt the attacking patterns and can pretty successfully dodge / dash past the fire balls but then I always slowly die to the lesser Boars @.@ I try to hit it with both magic and normal attacks as well... But I think I may have been under levelled as I skipped the Third Stage by accident thinking they were the same and haven't tried it since then. Um, I also seem to have two re-tries left. I don't want to use them as I don't know how often they reset or whatever and the person who answered my earlier question seemed quite unsure. Is it two lives for the rest of the game or the level or ???? Thanks!
You get all 3 get-ups back every time you retry or go into a level. They're free, we don't have a hidden charge for them or anything. You been playing too many KRPGs! I figure you're doing fine on the boar boss, it's just that you're not using the lives. IVARO: You don't get your health back because then we'd have to design the game around the levelups. Though really, I just didn't want to be too MMO-ey.
I'm not too far in the game yet but destroying all the random crap in this game is seriously giving me dejavu of cutting grass and pots ala Zelda. Love it! No rupees in this game of course. Also I agree that the game icon could use some work but that's really, really minor.
Thanks! That is good to hear! Apart from that, this is becoming my favourite Rocketcat game. Here in germany, the game is on place 22. Hopefully it gets to the top, but I don´t think it can beat the Fruit Ninja madness.
So far, tons of fun. One more on the wish list -- auto-rotate, I guess many have already voiced this.
Kepa can we add a battery indicator into the pause screen? I am playing this every chance I get and it's useful to see what impact it's having on my phone. Yesterday it just lasted the day, which is pretty good going considering I spent 3-4 hours playing on top of normal use. Still loving the game, just wish I has more time to play.
Ah, don't nerf it. Yeah, it's long, but the challenge in that level is fun. Though I was kinda pissed off when I died 3 times and had to restart the level, haha. Shame on me for dying three times though, I underestimated the game's difficulty. Maybe you could add a few more jars to make it more manageable without completely losing the challenge.
Just bought it and really like it. The controls are great (Pro Stick)! Which is one of my rarest and therefor one of the highest praise a game can earn from me. Setting and Ambient feels also 16bitish satisfying. One thing I wished is seperate audio level controls for music and fx. The music is great but after 10 minutes is the same level the loop gets on a bit annoying. As fo Auto-rotation please also include a soft rotation lock! that´s it from me so far excellent game! I am not fo far into the game but are there some auto save-points during the levels? So that when you die, you don´t have to restart from the beginning of the level? I think this is also MUST-Have options in modern games esp. if - as mentioned before - the levels are so big!
In 3-2, are we suposed to be able to get in the area south of the bridges? I try to get my third star, as I keep missing some monsters, but can't find a way to get below the bridges.
I'd understand adding one or two health jars to that long Orc level or some more magic jars. But now I have more pride having 3-starred it before it gets the nerf.
Man, I can't get over how good this game is. Not just standing there mashing some buttons but having actual fight mechanics. The boss fights so far have been perfect. Kudos to the developers of this one.. it's a gem. Hopefully it sets a new standard in iOS rpg's.
Rocketcat Games strikes again! Bringing me a highly addictive hoo... woops, action rpg. And guys, just buy this game, there's no way you won't like it!
Definitely REALLY enjoying MG. Like Robotwars said- the combat is really well implemented- attacks feel like they have weight, and the knockback is perfect; it's definitely the the most tactile rpg combat i've seen so far on iOS. Gratz, Kepa!
I just noticed that Mage Gauntlet is number 22 in the top 25 apps (not just games). I am unsure as to why Whale Trails got game of the week, and this did not. Rocketcat Games is certainly in my top 5 developers, thats through out all platforms. I am really glad this game is taking off like it did, congratulations RCG/Kepa on such a great game.
They said Whale Trail is the spiritual successor to Tiny Wings, a game that Apple loves, so that plays into it a little.
