People that play this game are not very smart. They flock like sheep to vote to kill whoever was voted for first and come up with the dumbest reasons to suspect people. Still a fun game, but I wish I could msg everyone about how stupid they were for killing me. Even if a dead person could get one "parting message" (call it an epitaph or whatever) it would be a LOT more satisfying. HINT: I'd even PAY for the privilege if it was added as an IAP. There could be a "Graveyard" location, and everyone who died could be listed there with their parting words. And it would have to pop up so everyone had to read it at least once.
Awesome game, really love the strategy involved. I'm also going to add my voice to the graveyard idea, would be really cool.
The graveyard idea theyre talking about involves ONLY dead people talking to one another and will be hidden from those living.
I just got killed. So why not about the graveyard? In the cons for the graveyard idea, it would be a place with a lot of resentment I've played two games which had only around 50% of the players actually playing. Some may have quit, some may not do anything. But is that something that happens a lot? It does not make for a good experience, me thinks. EDIT: If you stay until the game ends, the dead people get to chat with the other players.
The chat log has an issue (iOS): only the last 10 or so messages are listed, eventually repeated three times.
Is there a way to report players? (antisemitic message) Also having the log of the last day's votes would be nice: they are pretty important (probably more than the chats). Otherwise a way of abusing the game is to wait for the last minute to vote (so people don't know who voted).
Issue: "Not enough coins" I've purchased coins to support the game and specifically to create a longer game (12 hours day) (and because I cannot seem to win any game ). I get the issue in the attachment file. Force quitting the game has not solved the problem. As for the 12-hour day thing, I would like to experiment: the 3-minute settings is nice to discover the game but incite people to not say anything, or at least to have minimal interactions. I've read in this thread that people play the Mafia game in forums and would like to see if the Mafia Mystery app supports the same kind of behaviour. I've played Mafia-like kind of games live (in a room with other people) and what the app handles nicely is the communication between players: though only written, it's nice to be able to speak freely during the day or the night and have a separate chat room for the mafia. For now I am under the impression that the app would require some tweaks to balance games (mafia/villagers) and to manage the fact that people will play the fastest they can to collect coins. But I'll play a few more games before settling on my impressions Also, but I may understand wrongly, why does the creeper's outfit have a rainbow? As for the following issue that I posted earlier, a solution would be to consider as dead players that had no interactions (vote/chat) for a day and a night? The problem with this solution is that it will not help with the coin-grabbing behaviour games.
The chat room/log is annoying it doesn't scroll smoothly, and keeps jumping to the bottom. Also if I die in the game I don't want to see dozens/hundreds of notifications pop up on my phone, I also don't want to sit in the game doing nothing for upto 1/2 an hour. Let me review what happened at the end of the game. I agree with above that a record of who voted who throughout the game is majorly important.
Working on different configurations for game types, currently tweaking the one below. If we can get a good community of people this could be really fun, and very often. Add me as a friend if you want to play!
This is a good idea. I've seen a lot of games created that don't have a good role distribution. What is the last role in your pic? It only shows 7
