Uh no not really. First, you can't pass judgement on the controls cuz you haven't tried them. I have been comparing pics because they are readily available. Second, I do have NFL 2010 so i would know how it plays. And how does it play? It is ok for an entry into football sim but nothing better than a 3 star rating. And I am not biased. I am just comparing 2 pics, one of madden and one of nfl 2010. P.s. i am the only fanboy so far voicing my opinion.
I don't really get what that means...but since Monster is a more powerful substance than mountain dew, I am going to assume monster=EA and mountain dew=gameloft, and what you are saying is, that since EA is better than gameloft, we shouldn't compare pics cuz EA should be the winner from the start. Did I get that correct?
Being able to draw a hot route with your finger while at the LOS will be sweet. Gameplay is king and time will tell if it's better. But I'm encouraged by the screenshots.
Ok. Let me re-phrase that. Why are we comparing RockStar to Full Throttle? EA= RockStar= Yeah. We port your favorite console games but screw the controls up just to make you happy. Full Throttle= Gameloft= We work hard to make great games for your iDevice and we don't port our games, we make them from scratch. That seems right.

Looking good so far... I own NFL 2010 (my itunes review is under "jmy21") and I think it sucks. After seeing the Madden screenshots, controls, and reading the game specs/details (http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=120046191732&ref=nf) you guys are flat out fooling yourself if you think that Madden doesn't look or seem better (on paper at least) than the pathetic attempt at a football game that is Gameloft's NFL10. You can call it opinion or speculation or whatever you want to make you feel better but.... One thing: the MAIN RULE that separates the NFL from the other levels of football is the down-by-contact rule and Gameloft couldn't even get that right...amongst much more. Pathetic. Needless to say I am even more eager for Madden after getting all the new info!!
Exactly. I own NFL as well and I find the lack of attention to detail really annoying. Whether it's the wrong phrases in the commentary to something huge like the down-by-contact rule or the control scheme - Gameloft always leaves games 80% finished, then releases them. Tiger Woods is a perfect example of a game that gets the little things right. And it leads me to believe that Madden 10 has a good chance of that as well.
??? No offense, but that post reads like one by a Madden fanboy. Seriously. Yes, the draw distance is better. Yes, the character models seem to be bit crisper. That said, the stadium graphics, crowd, and grass/turf textures in NFL 2010 top those of Madden in those screenshots. So, from those screens: NFL 2010: less detailed character models, less draw distance, better stadium, crowd, grass/turf. Madden: more detailed character models, better draw distance, lower quality stadium, crowd, grass/turf. As for gameplay, we don't know as we don't have the games. Madden will be held to a higher standard, though, the double edged sword that is Madden for EA Sports. Better name recognition, higher standard to live up to. Makes me pine for ol' Visual Concepts, now 2K Sports, to come back with an NFL game now that it's proven EA doesn't have exclusivity in the mobile platform market, only the portable game system, PC, and home console markets p @ EA). Because, honestly, the old NFL 2K series > Madden.
I hate it when people pull stuff out of their asses like this, just because they can't find a good reason to dislike it. Gameloft makes sure they are 100% done with developing before they submit. You obviously don't know what a game that is only developed 80% actually is like, so you can't argue.
Eh? Gameloft does port their games to iPhone/touch. Both Brothers in Arms: Hour of Heroes and Assassin's Creed were ported over from Nintendo DS. And EA =/= Rockstar. Hell, the LAST thing EA wants is Rockstar, or rather, Rockstar's parent company Take 2 Interactive to get in on iPhone/touch development. After all...Take 2 owns 2K Games, and 2K games made a bunch of high quality sports games over the years (NBA 2K series, NFL 2K series, etc.). Well, actually, the LAST thing EA (and Gameloft too for that matter) want is for Sega to wake up from the self imposed stupor in which they've found themselves. But that's an issue for another topic....
100 percent of crap is still crap. Every single Gameloft sports title (I have them all) is this way. Call it a low standard, incomplete or what you may. The fact is they get to a certain point and basically say "well ,that's good enough." It's consistent in all of their sports titles. I can find plenty of reasons to dislike NFL 2010, many of which have already been listed and stand by the 80% label as accurately describing their games.
I always find it interesting when someone says things like this...all of their games suck and are incomplete and I should know because I own all of them. Really? Perhaps if they're so bad, you would have stopped after the first couple. NFL 2010 is a solid title. Not fantastic, certainly not bad. Madden is...oh wait, that's right. We don't know yet. We have screenshots. That's it. You know what you can tell from screenshots? Dick, that's what. Nothing at all. People are talking framerates, draw standards, etc. etc., but it's all conjecture at this point. Madden may blow 2010 out of the water, it may be worse, or it may be better at some things and worse at others. We. Don't. Know.
Oh, sports titles, you say.. Then I agree. I'm not too fond of Gameloft's sports game titles and I think those are better done by EA, but as for racing, platformers, or other genres, Gameloft is great. Call them what you want but I still like them.
EA is bringing the Madden NFL franchise to the iPhone and CNET has taken a first look at the game. The game is set to hit the iPhone on September 10. The controls for the game include a virtual joystick on the left along with other controls on the right. The game is said to look more like Madden for the Nintendo DS than what you get on the Xbox 360. Receivers are apparently color coded by how open they are and the graphics look cool. We will all have to wait until opening day for the NFL season to see what the game is really like. [via CNET
