The one we like most here is: - You can now enjoy and try to unlock ANY level of the game, even if is in a world which is still locked, simply receiving a challenge by a friend who already unlocked that level ! This opens even the hardest levels to everyone. Enjoy!
This is something will really help the people who stopped at the east / south world to see how marvelous is this game in the last 16 levels. I'll definitively check challenges out tonight! Keep up the good work, the game is now seriously faster than before, loading times and also the framerate! P.S. Consider to make a new thread for this announcement, otherwise users won't catch the wonderful news
What's New in Version 1.3 - Retina Display Support for 4G devices - Game Center Achievements - All the worlds are now finally unlocked by default! - New levels pack is available - New kind of balls to have fun with are available - Better OpenFeint integration - Tweaks, fixes, improvements
Thank you John, I forgot to add the info in the official thread. Sorry 4G users. We are actually in review and a fix should be out very soon For the curious out there, the Retina Display version fails to initialize the menu/gui because our engineer has forgot to add the Retina start up project before to pack the binary. This caused the bug which runs the game at full Retina Display but with the low res menu/gui. Of course the employee has being punished for his mistake, and we assure it won't happen again ! The game is already a success for many iPod iPhone and iPad users of all generations. This week will be great in HD at full 960x640 for 4G users too.
Hey I love this update ! Much more social and more responsive. I play without music and the first thing I was glad for, is the fixed sound loop of the rolling ball. Marvelous! Please make some kind of break button as now with the NITRO sometime I need to break ! I love this game! Can't put the iPhone down! Thanks for keep on supporting the game, I bought it first at 3.99$ and still I can't complain, because I got so much fun with this. Keep up the good work!
Thanks guys. A quick update: The new version (1.3.1) is available and fixes all the issues of the previous version. Retina Display fixed Orientation bug fixed South 8 - Carousel Inferno - Fixed
Game Impressions I was fortunate to get a promo code for this, so in thanks to the developer I am leaving some quick impressions here. I hate tilt controls on my iPad, as well as Open Feint and IAP, so the game immediately was off to a very bad start with me. However, I can see all of the care and thought that went into this game and it controls and plays great. The tilt controls are so well implemented that I am willing to forgive that there is no alternative scheme. They probably would not make sense for a ball roller like this. Part of what makes it nice is the ability to recalibrate the tilt during gameplay. There are several other very nice touches that make this game flow and play well including the visual cues that pop up over the ball, and also the ability to skip the nice intro flyovers at the start of each level. Graphics and sounds are very good and there is a ton of content. From what I can tell early on, the IAP is not necessary to the game at all. Excellent game!
Thank you slewis7 for your feedback. It's very much appreciated. About OpenFeint. We started with OF as at that time it was just the best out there. We couldn't have GameCenter leaderboards (only achievements) because GameCenter has a limit of 25 (!) But we have 40 levels (32 + additional 8 space levels). About IAP, you are right. I never liked it either. But consider the fact that we had 95% of the copies "stolen" with jailbroken devices, so we tried to gather some additional with IAP. Hydrogen and boost is not mandatory. You can make super hi-score and finish the whole game even without it. Space Levels are worth the 0.99$ ! I tell this as this is our TOP SALE IAP. Moreover our App is Universal, this was not every developer choice. Think about titles like Tower Madness HD, not Universal, one of our favorite iGames ever! It asks 7$ for the iPad version and other quids for other weapons which are essentials to finish the game. Additionally, when I switched to iPad2, we couldn't restore the IAP ANYHOW (we tried all the whatsoever methods) because the App is checking the device UID, so I basically lost my IAPs and had to buy again the additional weapons! (sorry Limbic, but this is true!!!) We think 0.99$ (3.99$ the original price) is a very fair deal for a game you can start and finish without to purchase anything at all. The Hydrogen thing is something to bash OIL and to launch H combustion. This was not a Tesla motors or a Obama/Bill Gates call. It was just our idea. (J/K) Speed boost allow players to make crazy jumps and crazy scores on some levels (if they are really skilled), but that's it. The larger H tank you have the longer you'll be able to keep the boost button pressed and so to make longer/craziest boosts. All these are the reasons why we also put a Thanks Developers IAP button. (we are telling because one guy complained on a review about this) Happy Holidays and Happy New Year everybody !
Breakdown Studios: Thanks for the explanation. All are very good points. Your game is well worth both the original asking price and the newer sale price. I'm glad to hear you confirm the IAP is not needed to play through the game. As a happy user, I will gladly fork over the extra buck for the extra maps when I finish the included ones. The one problem is that you include so many maps with the standard app it may take me a while.
A quick note: we added and will be adding more "Outerspace" screenshot to our TA album soon http://forums.toucharcade.com/album.php?albumid=715
Thank you very much Ethel. Is always nice to hear users appreciate the game. Meantime you may enjoy also this gameplay video which features also some of the Outerspace levels: (skip to minute 1':00" or to 4':00" to see some "outerspace" action) my suggestion is to start at minute 4:00 and play it as a popup !
Thank you. We updated the offical TA photo album with some new Retina Display screenshots, check it out! Mad O Ball 3D screenshots album
