Well, I'm a little late to the party, just bought an iPhone 4S after being a long time android user and accidentally stumbled onto this game. I let out a squee since I had never heard about it on IOS but have been a long time Lunar fan. Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete on the PSX was my second RPG, Earthbound aka Mother 2 being my first. As far as this port goes its excellent. The story and characters are fun, interesting, and top notch. Typical turn based battle system with a few extras like allowing on party member to flee while others attack just incase everyone gets wiped out. The interface and UI work well for a game like this. People complain a lot about it, and it could use a few tweaks, but it is what I would consider good enough and does well at getting the job done. My only gripe is a small one. The joystick in landscape would do better if it was locked into the corner. I wouldn't say the moveable joystick ruins the game but sometimes I focus on the enemies movement and that causes me to make mistakes in my movement. The d pad in portrait works perfect, but it makes the screen too small. As far as slowdown and crashes go, I can't comment. I have a 4S with iOS 6.1.3 and outta the 4 odd hours I have played, I have experienced no problems. I assume these issues have already been patched though. All in all this is a great portable version of Lunar. If you're a Lunar fan of just a fan of JRPGs this is a must have. Nall and everyone at SoMoGa have done an awesome job on this and deserve every penny. I just pray that someone re does Lunar 2 at some point soon. And god, please give us Lunar 3!!!
A lot of artwork had to be touched up, and that's about 98% done, and once everyone on the team has a chance to try it out and assuming they're happy with it, it will be sent to a QA lab before it goes to Apple.
Quick heads up to everybody: We've noticed that some people have been experiencing crashes if they've changed the in-app language settings when playing on iOS 7. It's a problem with the localization API and hence something that we have to get Apple to look at, but in the interim, switch those settings back to the default if you run into any problems.
Glad to hear it's still being worked on to perfection. I've had it for a while, but really want to play in it some nice widescreen glory. Thanks to the team for all of your hard work for this classic game.
will the audio ever be fixed? Hear weird popping sounds that kinda ruin the amazing ost. its like playing a scratched cd.
any info on the sequel? A lot of folks are waiting for info on whether you plan on it or not and it would be great to not be left hanging in regard to something that is never going to arrive. On the flip side it would be welcome news to many many folks if it is in fact in the works. Clarification?
To nall: As a longtime fan I am pleased you released it. Does Alex's Ocarina still act as a sound test?
They are still working on game and are one of rare teams that provided support so far after initial game release. I think there is still hope that we'll see Lunar 2 : Eternal Blue on App Store one day.
How about a video of the Playstation 1 version? It's practically the end but there's still about an hour left after this.
