To anyone who's never played this game(and it's sequel) are missing out on one of the best RPGs(2 if u count the sequal, which alot of people say is even better) ever... Seriously these games are no joke..comparable to FF6,chrono trigger you name it in the world of 2D RPGs. If 2d RPGs aren't your cup of tea then that's different. But if you loved or even liked all the great RPGs from the snes era and haven't played this game, you need too.. I'd say L:SSS is the essence of what a jrpg is or should be in every possible way, even over FF6,CT and the like.
Waaaaaiiiit a minute... Not universal? Please tell me it is, and they just forgot to list it on the original post. Of course I don't expect an HD graphic makeover, just for things to fit properly on an iPad.
It's universal - see title. All my threads mention universal binaries in the title. If it's not there, it's not universal. I usually mention if there's a lite version available, too.
Could've sworn I read the title several times... Maybe I need to get more sleep instead of playing Borderlands 2...
Not that it really matter but I remember reading somewhere that the Saturn Version had better graphics because it had the ability to produce more colors or something because it had a chip or something the PlayStation didn't have...
I don't get how old games like this with "remastered" graphics from the Saturn are so huge in size. The original game was probably like 10 MB or something. And it clearly doesn't look like it's been upgraded that much. Oh well, still will be interested to hear how the iOS version is. EDIT: Nevermind, saw this listed under what this port offers: - Nearly a full hour of animated cut scenes - Remastered soundtrack with high quality music and voice tracks That's probably the bulk of it.
Well, maybe there's a reason for why it took them so long to realese this. Hoping they added alot of additional content or something...I dunno probly not When it says remastered soundtrack I'm guessing they mean from the Sega cd ver to the Saturn. It would be cool however if they remastered it again..but again probly not...
The Saturn was a disc based system too Hell, the Playstation version I own is even on two discs (and well, the two are pretty much identical) Anyway, Lunar is definitely an awesome game, with a ton of gameplay in it too. I believe it took me about 80ish hours to beat the first time. Has a good story, and some awesome humor packed in as well. If you like JRPGS, and don't own one of the originals, seriously get it, it's pure awesome.
A lot of the 2d JRPG's of the disc based era of consoles used animated secuences and cut scenes to enrich the gameplay so that made the filesizes way bigger. The saturn had an amazing library of these kind of games and this is for sure a classic. Instabuy as soon as I see it, iOS is getting some pretty crazy releases lately!
I'm always up for another JRPG, but can anyone tell me why this one is so significant? I've never heard of it before.
Whelp, at $7, I'm not even gonna wait to see what the reviews say. Screw it, I have to have it... Now to figure out what I can get rid of to make room for it.
I don't get why you think the Saturn version was 10MB? It was on a CD, not a series of floppies. The dev has said that the video scenes are at a higher resolution than the Saturn version but are encoded using h.264 so the file sizes for these are actually SMALLER than the original.
