Mostly correct. I did my first play through split between an iPhone 4 and iPad 2. The second play through was entirely on an iPhone 4S. On both times playing through whenever I reported a bug it was addressed, including any ones that prevented me from proceeding in the game.
Yes and if they had thorough testing I'm sure someone played through on an iPad 2 as well, which is where I've encountered the most problems. Going from a handful of testers to thousands of players will always reveal some undiscovered kinks and there are definitely some here.
Don't make assumptions. I'm not jailbroken, and wouldn't know how to if I wanted to. My phone has been well maintained, and it comes directly from AT&T. Never had any issues with it.
Hey there. I'm looking for a few people who have a few hours to kill in the next couple days and would be willing to pre-test a minor update. Is that you? If so, at a minimum, I need your device info (type and OS), UUID, email, how far you've gotten in the game, and what (if any) problems you've experienced.
Bought the game soon as I saw it was out because despite having played quite a few jRPGs.. I missed out on this one! I'm on a 32gb iPad 2, iOS6. I've got the lag/slowdown happening usually after a couple hours of play.. and a few random crashes here and there (once after a cutscene? Can't remember). It hasn't interfered with my gaming experience too much, I end up just restarting the app when it slows down. I have to second what some are saying regarding the interface in landscape mode. There's no way to select between overlapping friends or enemies during battle in landscape mode. And the joystick/tap combo took me some time to get used to, at first I'd try to use the joystick and instead I'd end up running about. Also when items are located under the buttons, you can't tap them (especially if you're on the right side of a map like a building). So I end up using a combination of both interfaces to navigate the game now... the touch and the joystick. I find that talking to characters using the joystick is typically impossible, it's much easier to tap them. Despite those quirks I'm still enjoying the game (I come from the old skool so I'm no stranger to quirky gaming setups)... happy to see some quality jRPGs up on the app store now. It would be nice if the devs could find a way to make the landscape interface a little smoother though. Anyway thanks to those involved in the game for reading our feedback.
Lag I am playing the game on a iPhone 4, IOS 6, 16 GB. I downloaded the game and had no problems until I got to the forest after getting the Dragon Diamond. The lag just makes it unplayable. Is there something I need to do? I loved this game growing up and never got to finish it and really want to. I have bought FF 1, 2, and 3, Chrono Tigger, GTA3, FFT, and many other misc. games. Never had any problems. I dont have all those games anymore and still have plenty of memory.
Try force quitting the app and restarting. I believe the next update will address this problem, sorry you ran into it.
Nall-- if you're having trouble getting controls to work out, try looking at any of Square Enix's Final Fantasy iOS games, or the Ash series. both have really excellent, smooth controls for JRPGs.
Does anyone know how to access any of the "greyed" out buttons in the main meun? There's a "sync save" option that I can't access. Does this game have cloud saves or is it just teasing? There's also a settings button that I can't access. Anyone know whats up here?
I shan't anger the gods, but let's just say there was some last-minute technicality drama. The upcoming update includes iCloud saves.
Ok here is my feedback of Lunar. I am using an iPad 2 running iOS 5.1.1. 1) Tap movement has sever pathing issues. Essentially when tapping to move you get stuck on almost every single thing, from sprites, walls, objects, etc. Any narrow passageway is nearly impossible to tap through. 2) Using the Joystick is a burden in Landscape mode (the only way I play). It is not a joystick, it is a D-Pad and is the only way to effectively navigate certain areas because the touch movement gets STUCK and cannot even unstuck itself by touching the opposite direction. 3) The buttons A & B These are HUGE and 100% in the way. Since the top button is used for communication it is next to useless even when using the D-Pad because touching a sprite is more accurate and faster. The bottom button is in the way of moving to the right and constantly brings up the menu which is not useful at all. 4) Long play periods cause massive FPS lag and stuttering of gameplay, must reboot game entirely to fix this issue. 5) I have gotten to the Lemia cutscene where Alex is imprisoned, and as soon as Nall flies up out of the throne room area, the game crashes. I have restarted multiple times and it will not get past this point. Thus I have been effectively stopped from playing the game. Cutscenes in general seem to have a crashing issue. Also, the only other time I crashed was after the Slime boss (on boat) and the voyage started, it would crash twice, I played again and I got past the part (having to beat that boss again sucked btw). I cannot seem to "fix" or get past this latest crash so I am quite disappointed. 6) The in-game animation seems fine, the music seems fine, the menus I have no issue with because I figure out RPGs in about 30 seconds. The port is done well besides the meta experience (movement, layout, crashes). Fix these and the port will be amazing. Please release a crash update whereby the game never crashes on the same spot constantly and a smooth pathing option for Touch controls, and the removal completely (assuming smooth pathing) of the D-Pad and Buttons on screen. Put a Menu button in the top right to access the party screen and saves. Oh, one more thing, please put an Exit to main menu button/something instead of the Shack the ipad to bring up a Continue/Main Menu feature, that is just not intuitive at all (especially when it says your game will not be saved, yet when I close the app 100% and reload it it auto-starts from where I closed it regardless if I saved or not.)
Hey there Highborne, I agree with you on #1 and #3. #3 was a request from the original creative staff, but we're looking into changing it. #4, we have an update I'd love for you to try out. #5, I don't remember having an issue at that point, but I'll be sure to try it again.
Not sure what all keyboards are/are not supported. I just plugged my iPad into the keyboard with the dock connector that Apple sells.
I had the game crash twice after the slime boss too, just like he described, but like him I was also able to play through on the third try. I think I didn't mention this to you at the time - oops
I'm betaing (not a word) the next update to this game. I have yet to see the slowdown. The status bar being gone is nice for cutscenes. this update makes it better
