Here a litle something: I think it would be a good idea when using explosive stab it would show how many enemies are caught in the attack. A better enemy selection system would be great. I'm not a hater, love the port and game. Just giving some user feedback

When it begins to occur, the stick is sluggish. Playing with touch to move during the problem works fine, however. The problem seems to get progressively worse regardless of control method used, though - until the game is restarted or crashes(this makes me think memory leak). If using a virtual input, the problem is noticeable while if using touch to move the game will just appear to have suddenly crashed.

I still haven't encountered any specific areas unlike the others. My problems continue to appear over time after having minimized and used other apps before returning(also leading me to believe a general memory leak is causing the problem).

If I manage to find anything more specific I'll be sure to post it.

Found a new problem that needs attention. While in battle, sometimes when I hit the defend button and do that action, the defend icon with description wont leave until I complete the battle. It is really annoying. If you guys could fix this is appreciate it :)

I have to confess the port is not quite as good as I thought. I just recently started getting the framerate issue in landscape. Whenever that happens I just switch to portrait... Which feels kind of wierd but ok I guess.. I don't get y'all just didn't put it in landscape only... It feels like it was made for portrait, and landscape is just streched to fit causing the slowdown?

Also for beginners, realize that figure out the menus first is one of the most frustrating parts of the game. Mainly because of everyone.being able to held items, confusion with buttons, I guess that compared with the slowdown has some people turned off before even starting.. Which is ashame considering the game is so good, also when u first leave burg don't accidentally go to the woods, remember
ur looking for a cave go up and around

I guess I'm fine with the game just hope this framerate thing gets fixed(maybe a fixed joystick)

Also, running has been removed? I've been trying to find the button to push but no success.

Indunno maybe the fact that when ur walking around with ur party they're all there and that could make it hard?

Finnally I noticed at level up the screen goes out way to fast before I can even read it (not that big a deal)

    * On a side note Vay has Finnaly been updated showing Somoga are trying to patch and improve their games and that gives me good hope that lunar will receive the same. It's frustrating reading about new players to the game having control and framerate issues because this game should be enjoyed and this is stoping people. Hopefully they can stick with it till it the story starts getting good... Then with a simple update things will be fine..

The little tweak that would make the controls infinitely more responsive is if I can walk AND talk to someone at the same time (multi touch!). Trying to chase down a walking npc is the most infuriating thing ever.

How do you use settings? Seems grayed out.

I wanna turn off tap to move. More than once have i accidentally walked across the map.

Actually most of the developers prefer to play it in landscape :)

If you or Seil are these having slowdown issues a lot, there's an option you can try: kill the app in the dock, go into Settings app, and under Lunar there's an advanced option for shaders, turn them off and re-launch the application. This will reduce load on the graphics chip, but at the cost of some effects/animations on maps being approximated/reduced.

A lot of places in the game it won't let you run, this was as-is in the source version. I know in Eternal Blue Complete, you can dash even in dungeons for a short period, but your character tires quickly.

Okay there is one thing guys absolutely have to do or I'm gonna be really mad.... You guys need to release the soundtrack on iTunes. I mean you guys did such a good job on the music, I would buy it indefinitely. :) :D ;)
If guys dont release the soundtrack I'll never beat the game cuz I will be stuck listening to the music at certain points because it's ssssoooooo good :)

    Thanks,

Well If that's true I don't understand the portrait implementation? That's not a common thing for an iOS game and I can only think of a few others that even have it.(meaning both)

Well, tried to play some more, and it's fine for about 10 minutes. Then the framerate started to crap out again. Seems it has nothing to do with where you are in the game, but rather it just craps out after a few minutes of play.

This a port of a version of the game that is, what, from 1996? And the 3GS can't handle it? Yet this device is listed as compatible. Think I give up. Gonna report the issue to Apple and hope for a refund. Sorry...

You can correct me but that sounds like a progressing memory leak. I hope it is fixed soon.

That's what it seems like to me. If turning off shaders or lowering resolution or any of those things could fix the problem, the problem wouldn't be gradual the way it is -- your device would either run it smoothly or it wouldn't. And it's not certain areas of the game; it's progressive over time. I know certain segments of a game can cause lag, but it's not that sort of problem at all. The game just slowly stops running.

We've run numerous builds of this game under Instruments for long periods of time and haven't observed that. But it's possible that some very particular combination of resources (e.g., a particular device and OS release) has a memory leak in a system library that isn't generally observable, if you want to PM me your configuration we'll try that and see if we can replicate it.

Hey pico, I'd like to see that too, although somehow I suspect only a handful of us would buy it. :) That said, one of the other companies involved in Lunar (there are a lot of them) released a limited edition soundtrack in the US with a lot of this music that's not hard to track down copies of.

iPhone 4 here. So, should I wait until the framerate issue is solved?

Judging from Nall's replies, I can't say they're fully acknowledging there is a framerate issue. I'd hold off, personally. It's a terrific game, but this port has serious, serious issues.

I have framerate issues on iPhone 4S 5.1.1 too. First time it was in the forest when you wake up near the bonfire.

    1) When you try to heal someone via menu the popup actually covers the HP’s. I can memorize 4 numbers, but meh...

Nall, I wrote not only 2 points. I would like to hear if my suggestions would be implemented or not.

    2) Using Emoji in-game is so lame too. That’s not that hard to draw an arrow. (Damage / Defence comparison) It does not even display correctly in portrait mode.

    3) Before animated cutscene begins the screen distorts. More in portrait, less in landscape.

    4) Hate the shrink animation before the battle begins.

    5) 1. Controls are not responsive. In portrait mode it is impossible to press 2+ buttons simultaneously.
    2. In landscape joystick sometimes stucks for a second in left top corner.

Devs, seriously. The game is great and it is (almost) impossible to spoil it by bad porting. We had Chrono Trigger and other lame ports, that’s enough.

Lunar like sells itself, not you are who’s selling it. You have my respect for rewriting the engine, but everything should be done the right way. You’ve had your time, your mistakes are obvious.

Have a look at Sonic CD port. They have added:
    1) Widescreen
    2) 60 FPS in 3D levels
    3) Fully playable Tails (new char)
    4) Two types of spin-dash
    5) Corrected physics.

    What have you done?
    1) Ugly interface
    2) Added more bugs

I don’t know if it’s okay with you. I’m just somehow offended by your treatment of this great game. I feel this way when Square-Enix releases a bad port and there is nothing that can be done. But when I could speak directly to the developer... I just don’t know. I would like to be supported and heard.

I have to agree. Love the game itself, but this port is terrible. God awful UI and bugs galore.. The testers on this game need to hold their heads in shame.

For me it happens after the cutscenes, a weird mostly blank screen flashes with some sort of object at the bottom.

I'm also experiencing the framerate slowdown, to the point of framerate stop really, when I play for long periods. I'm gonna try saving every little while and quitting/reopening to see if that helps because I've completely missed the last couple of non-cutscene story segments due to screen freeze (audio still played).

I'm playing mostly in portrait now since I prefer the d-pad, and just rotating to landscape for cutscenes, which leads me to believe a transparent d-pad option for landscape would be a good thing.

The animation sitting vs standing that shows whether a character can use a piece of equipment seems to be broken. More than once I've noticed characters who can use an item are sitting and characters who can't are standing.

Oh and I meant to post this earlier but I just got around to uploading. This is what I saw after the first story segment on the boat:

I saved and killed the app reopened and loaded the save and everything was fine.

Nail on head. It happens over time until it gets to the point where animation completely stops. This should have never left the factory, so to speak. It is not ready from prime time by any means. And an update needs to come fast, like now!
