I think I'll take your advice and take a break. I've run out of games recently, hence the reason I went back to LL1 and 2. On the mob-spawn front... Ultima 3 had, I would say, a reasonable and necessary amount of mob spawns. They were kind of needed in order to level up while the game scaled in difficulty. LL mob spawns can get insane at times. It's not *that* big of a deal in LL because you can kill them very quickly. My spawn request was based on the assumption that LL3 would have a party of characters and "zoom up" battles like Ultima 3. I thought I read somewhere in this thread that you planned on doing the party of characters, but I'm not sure about the zoom up. If the battles stay the same as LL1/2 then the # of spawns wouldn't be a problem.
Im sorry if this has been answered but I've been working on this for 3 days and can't figure out how i actually enter the Cave in Verdigris to get the last nightshade. I can see the cave but it's behind several tiles of swamp. I don't see any path and I've searched pretty well for hidden ones and talked to everyone on the entire swamp island (I think). From what i can tell you can't bring an alligator you are renting into the town and you can't secure the ones in the Little ponds in the town either.... so I'm a bit lost. How are you supposed to get to that cave if you don't have the power to cross swamp yet???
Good to know these forums still work! To answer your question, it’s not * quite * true that you cannot cross swamps. You are able to cross *one* tile of swamp at a time. With that in mind, take a closer look at all that swampland down there - you may have missed a path…
Well that was easy. I actually initially assumed there would be such a path but couldn't find it for some reason (idk how because several of the caves operate this way) so i assumed the solution wws more complicated and spent a lot of time searching for things that didn't exist when the answer was right in front of my face.... thanks! yes forum works. Great game. brings back memories
Just out of curiosity, what does throwing the switch on the island between the Observatorium and Low Town do?? I've finished game just running around doing useless things. Found the palm pilot and killed all npc in the global map just to see what might happen. wondering what other easter eggs might exist....
Hmm. Good question! I think that switch triggers the appearance of a treasure chest on the little island right next to it. Offhand I do not remember what is in that - I think it is just a diamond or some thing you can sell...
FYI.... may not matter but i got a fatal error in postgame exploration in shatners redoubt. I went thru the dungeon and used the boots of balin to bypass the gate obstacles. when i left the area via the northern path the game crashed
@oralabora Thanks for letting me know. Yes, there are some bugs in there like that - not a lot was tested with post-game exploration...
@bsabiston I’ve been playing Lowerlander II and have been having a blast. You just can’t find games like this anymore. Thank you for creating this. This is a long shot, but I am stuck. I’ve done 3/4 of the quests to get the wizard wand. I can’t find Riverwood. Any clues?
I think I may have found it. Spoiler Is it at the top of the maze area? How do I get past those doors? I have the fire walking ability, but cannot walk over hills. How do I get that?
It is up there, yes. Which doors do you mean? Are you talking about the blue / white arrow force fields? When in doubt, check your quest log - what things do you have on there? Have you visited the astronomer? Done the big swampy continent with all the caves and the lizard king?
Thanks! It is the doors next to the airplane and looks to be right below Riverwood(?). I am able to go through the force fields. I have done everything in the log except the 4th wizard club task and collecting the spellstones for Bob (I have 30). I have the fire walking ability but have not figured out where to use it yet. And, I have not found the ability to cross hills yet. Perhaps I need to talk to more people to get quests? I have been to the observatory and have completed the Lizard King island.
Oh okay you are quite far along. I think Riverwood is maybe not where you are thinking. Have you navigated through the giant maze to the right of that? You need to get through that and head north. I wouldn't worry about walking over hills... Which 4th wizard task do you have left?
Thanks for the tip! I can’t believe I missed the Spoiler cracked wall . That was killing me (in a good way). I found Riverwood and am off doing the canoe challenge. Thanks again.
I defeated Yarak! Thanks a lot for your help. More importantly, thank you for creating such a great game. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can definitively say it has been my favorite game ever on iOS. It brought back a lot of nostalgia from my days of playing Ultima as a kid. The quests were great fun and challenging without being over the top. I really appreciated the Stoneseeker at the end as I was worried about the time to find them all. All around, great job! I hope to see Lowerlander III some day. I not, I’ve got these two to play again.
