Hy Bob Just reaching back out to see if there is an update on LL3? - Any major (or minor) changes to game play? - Still more of an "Ultima 2" (single player) or more of Ultima 3 (party of players) - approx. Target date of release? - Size (in comparison to LL1 and LL3 Thanks Bob!
Hi Late for the party I know I just finished Lowlander I and are trying my luck in Lowlander 2. Such a great game! I am stuck in Castle Sebastian, I have found out what Yarak is up to but now it seems like I am looking for a guard to bribe in NE tower? I can't find any? Is this the Giant? I can't figure out how to interact with them before they kill me. I been doing some mad runs past them to map the entire castle but can't find anyone. Hope someone can help me
Hello! Sorry I missed those threads from last year - I didn't get the email notifications for some reason. I must've been too busy working on LL3 @Sced, that castle section is meant to be sort of a 'stealth' part, but unfortunately it is just kind of frustrating. What I do is watch the guards on the minimap as I just repeatedly bump into the walls beyond their view, waiting for each guard to move into a position where I can slip past him. They always move in the same directions. It's true that most of them will chase you as soon as they spot you - but that should not be true of the guy in the NE tower (meaning top-right, in this case). Have you managed to reach him and speak to him? If so, there could be a bug. He should speak to you. If he does not, let me know and maybe you can upload your game for me to fix. @Jalgayer and @tjb, sorry for the radio silence. I forget to check these forums, assuming I'll get an email if someone posts here. I am still working on Lowlander III, it's just that I usually only get in a few hours in a week. At this rate, I don't know when it will be done. Hoping sometime next year? I will tell you I'm trying to do the party of players thing rather than single player, and that has made everything enormously more complicated. Because of the change in gameplay, also, I don't really have a concept of the size of it. In general because of the fighting, things move a little more slowly - which I don't like, but it's too late to turn back now, ha ha. There are other major differences too. But the party system (and my day job) are the things making it take so long... Take heart though! Barring catastrophe it will be out, one day. I hope it is fun.
@bsabiston Thanks for the swift response. That's right the guy in the NE tower doesn't speak to me he. I tried and upload a game callled "Sced," not sure if I got it right
@Sced when did you upload it? When you uploaded, did it show a progress bar and then give you a code at the end? (From the title screen, choose Load Game, then Copy, then Send...)
@Sced OK - I see that your game uploaded. As luck would have it though, my website seems to be having some problems. I'll have to wait until support gets back to me in order to access the uploaded game - and to be able to tell if it uploaded correctly. Stay tuned...
@Sced well, looks like something is broken with the uploads. I just recently changed website hosts. I think this happened the last time I did that. I will have to figure out what's wrong... In the meantime - if you look at your quest log, what are the most important looking things that it says need to happen? Just wondering how your game got bugged...
bsabiston No worries, thanks for trying. The quest log is pretty basic so far. I did actually restart once to see if it was a bug so this is 2nd attempt. I'm playing on Iphone 14 if that matters.
Hm. If you've tried twice, that is pretty strange. Can you describe exactly what you're doing? It's the guy in the far upper righthand tower, correct? Not the guy in the middle of the right hallway?
I decided to try again and sneak up there directly when I left the village and that worked! And yes it was the guy in the top right tower so not sure what triggered it but it's working now
Oh, great! Yeah I wonder what the problem was. In any case, thanks for contacting me about it. I wasn't aware that uploads are not working. Probably going to have to issue an update to fix it... good luck w/ the rest of the game!
Hello. I don't know if you still answer here or not, but I will reply anyways. First of all, I have to say that this is a great game. I haven't been in the mood for games for many years and just downloaded and deleted everything after a few days of playing, but your game, I find myself thinking about playing it even while working. But I have encountered a problem, don't know if it's a bug or that I can't find the answer. In this dungeon (Cave C for nightshades), I can't find a path that leads to that tile. I have tried other tiles and checked for other passages but I really can't find one. Also, can you give me a hint on how to reach cave H? I have explored the whole map (the parts that are accessible to me) but can't find it...
Hello! I answer whenever the forum deigns to notify me that there's been a post. I'm glad you are liking the game. Regarding that Cave C - it is not a bug, but it is possibly a bit tricky. Try retracing your steps in there and keep an eye on the minimap/game text log. I think there's a clue there... Cave H, let's see. I don't want to spoil it, so I will say to make sure and talk to the people at the bar in Castle Willow Weep. One of them has a clue about that cave, I believe... Let me know if these hints don't get you unstuck!
Thank you so much! I finally had the time to play and found them both. I also have another question, if it's not too much, and thank you so much for answering, but is there an easy way of catching frogs and bunnies? Usually I lead them to somewhere that they cannot run anymore, but now I see some that can't be caught that way because there isn't anything to block their paths. Am I missing something? Also, one more question... How do I complete the wizard club quest about going around with a canoe? I assume I have to do this where the willow castle and pirate cave is as they are interlinked to each other, but I can't find a canoe in the cities there...
No problem! Sad that TouchArcade is shutting down. This forum is the only repository of Lowlander information The frogs and bunnies - I think you just have to chase them into corners. You cannot freeze them, right? TBH it may not be possible to catch them all, I’m not sure. It isn’t necessary to do that to beat the game. The canoe around the world - there’s a canoe out there in the world, not in a town. Off the southwestern shore of the great desert… Bob
Oh, it really is sad. Is it possible to have a community in other platforms, especially since I've read that you're working on the 3rd one? It is such a great game that I was quite shocked when I couldn't find any walkthroughs or forums on it... Thank you so much for creating here and I hope that it will continue❤️ Also thank you for the hints! I will enjoy playing your game tonight, and hope that you also have a really great day.
I'm going to ask the TouchArcade people if they will let me reproduce this thread with all it's questions and answers on the game's website. Either way, for Lowlander III I'll try have something similar, either there or somewhere else...
First of all, I LOVED Lowlander 1, it was great. Really had the spirit of the early Ultimas. I probably commented on this previously a long time ago, but I figured I'd say it again. Decided to try LL2 again after many years and now I remember why I stopped. The game just becomes a big pain in the butt. There are so many quests that purposely take you all over the world to take up time, or require you to get X # of items from many dungeons, and each dungeon doesn't allow you to see (light spell barely works). Eventually I just gave up at player level 21 last time (2019). The whole "low dungeon light" thing needs to go. After restarting, I am now player level 23, and just finished the Spoiler Shangri-Lo Quest . It was brutal and not fun, kind of like some other previous quests. First of all, figuring it out was not obvious at all, secondly, there is no way to Spoiler remove food so it just becomes Spoiler "Move around for a 1/2 hour" . Ugh! Please consider making quests that are less cumbersome. If you need more to add more time to play, just add more side quests. Also, if you do end up making parties like Ultima 3, be sure to spawn less mobs in the world, because that would take FOREVER to complete anything. Ultima 3 was my favorite of all Ultimas, so I'm really looking forward to LL3, good luck making it. Again LL1 was awesome, and I hope you take more from LL1 than LL2 for LL3. BRIBE 100
Hm - well sorry you aren't liking it. I haven't heard many people express those particular complaints. Just don't play it if you aren't enjoying it. I'm curious how Ultima 3 is your favorite, since as I recall it is pretty heavy-handed with the random mob-spawns? (as is Ultima IV, and Ultima V).
