jmack3g I missed this post -- did you figure out the swamp thing? Without giving spoilers, I think by the time you really truly need to the cross the swamps, you will know how to do so.
That ability is gained once you have involuntarily visited the island of the Lizard King

Sorry, no music. There is someone working on a soundtrack but it wasn't ready at launch -- hopefully I'll patch it in one day soon, but I wouldn't hold my breath...

Hey I've got some free time, I could whip up some tunes for the game.

Thanks! A couple other people have offered as well -- maybe it could be a group effort.

Hi - firing up an old thread but just taking on this gem now!

I picked up the wand WAY too late as didn’t know I needed the honey for it back at beginning.. I now need the freeze spell for Yarak but don’t have it, how can I obtain it?

    Currently lv. 11

Also what’s the best way to earn some cash?! Tried farming wild creatures, but need for healing and food seems to wipe out any gains, so struggling to upgrade armour or weapon... tips?

Hey se99jmk, where are you in the game? Do you mean you need the freeze spell for Sleether? Or Yarak? You get a new spell every time you go up a level (or maybe every two levels later on). So just go up a level or two and you'll probably get it.

Ah, I think it’s Sleether (to get the key)
    Will keep levelling up!

    Any gold tips?

If you're already level 11 by that point in the game, I wouldn't worry too much about the armor and weapons. There are certain story points which will reward you with more gold and you'll be able to buy those things from time to time. I don't know of any reliable way to really farm gold -- although the Bee Caves are pretty easy to go into and kill a bunch of bees...

Just keep playing. Sell back stuff you find in dungeons and from battles. It's a bit slow at first, but gold's not hard to build up in this game.

    Ok, will keep trying!
Have just started a new game (so I can get the wand earlier, build up spells)...

4h or so in and it feels like I’m scratching the surface!

Also keeping a note of any frogs or gems I see for later... (no idea how to find all those frogs, need frog radar )

    wizards' club

In order to join the wizards' club, where can I find
the white orc that the oracle mentions
? Or how would I go about collecting clues as to where to find it?

Have I already seen it somewhere? I think I have explored the entire currently available map and checked out all dungeons, but I took a break to complete Lowlander first, so I might have forgotten it.

Hey someone else, those are two different things.
To join the Wizard's Club, you need to visit Redmound and help out the homeless family there. The orc lives on a snowy ice-packed island. He is part of a different quest.

    Room in inventory.

I love this game. It's destroying my productivity, so that's pretty much a 5 star review.

I'm early in the game and I'm already having inventory management problems. What the heck do I do with the
    Deonautics book
    and the
    Palm Pilot
? If they're just funny red herrings, I need to reclaim the space. The
    Palm Pilot
sells for 25 gold, so that would be a nice little windfall too.

Does inventory capacity increase later in the game? I hope so - I'm a hoarder.

Finally, is there a manual or world map of any sort? Two things I loved about the old Apple ][ RPG games - like the early Ultimas - were the detailed manuals and cloth maps that came with them.

    Hey Zuzax,

    Where did you get the
    Palm Pilot
? I can't remember where that is. If it is where I think it is, you should be able to get that anytime early in the game?? In any case you can sell it, and the book too. Also, as you play there are various ways for you to increase your inventory size.

With the first Lowlander someone posted a map he made here to the forums, but I don't think anyone has done that for 2 yet. I don't really want to do that myself because being able to see everything on the map would spoil certain elements of the game. By the end you'll be able to see the whole thing!

Yeah I did like those cloth maps and the detailed manuals in the old Ultimas, with all the descriptions of the spell reagents and where you find them...

    IIRC it was in the
    basement
    where you get the
    Wand of Theon
. NE corner. Now I can get my 25 bucks for it.

Will the game allow you to hose yourself and inadvertently sell needed quest items (like in more than a few old-school RPGs) or will the vendor refuse to take them like with the
    Peoneys
    ?

bwahahaha that is not supposed to be there!
it's supposed to be on the island in Yagni -- a little easter egg for anyone who late game decides to go kill the Yagni guards, steal a ship and sail up the creek. But that spot in the basement is at the same spot as the island in the city map and it doesn't check to see if you're in the basement or not :)

I don't think so -- I think everything you really need you aren't able to get rid of.

It's the one that's all swamp with little blocks everywhere?
Should be over on the lower left side, in a big empty patch of swamp.
