Stuwee, Someone else ran into this a few days ago. All is not lost, though! You just need to quit the game and reload. Either terminate the app or use Options->Quit to Main Menu. The passage should restore upon reload. This will be fixed in the next update!
Aha, thank you, it did reappear! Glad I don't have to redo the 8 hours it took to get that far. Thanks for the quick response.
Finished this last night. Very well done, I really enjoyed playing it. Obvious a lot of work and love went into it. You might want to provide an in-game hint to Odium's trick. I stumbled across it, but I spent good time at it. I found the buried treasure to be slightly disappointing. Maybe consider increasing that by 3x or so? Any plans to work on more games?
Thanks! Yes, I think you are right maybe Odium needs a hint. What buried treasure do you mean? Spoiler You mean the coordinates that you go to? So you don't mean a 3X gold increase but a stat points increase?
Yikes! Just ran into the dreaded "poisoned and too far away from a town" mistake. Was only a Level 3 character. I think I was only about 3 steps from the shop too. I will turn off the Autosave in the Options Menu. I'll just call that a 1 hour training session. This seems really fun.
Personally I don't think it is a good idea to turn off the Autosave. It will save you more often than not. Just make sure you don't enter any towns or dungeons if you become poisoned and don't think you will live. Just go ahead and quit, reload your last save.
Yes exactly! I turned off auto save immediately and had no troubles, but each should choose according to their own play style. I forgot to mention my game crashed when I cast Wisk from the 2nd floor of the final castle. I can pm you a screenshot of the error report if that would help. Also once when resuming I got the welcome back dialog but no button to dismiss it and ended up having to force quit. I was either standing on or in the airship at the time if that matters. Other than those two incidents game was very stable
Game Impressions This game is really a gem. The interface and controls are very well done. It's hard to explain but the game has a nice groove to it. For me it's a great fit for mobile iPhone gaming since you can start and stop playing for any length of interval. I do sometimes have a issue of forgetting what my next task is supposed to be. Maybe a game log would be useful for that situation. I would recommend it to pretty much to anyone not just Ultima fans.
BB, I will probably try to give it a second go around in the Next couple of weeks. I want to hit under 10 hours and then hit themark that hits the spot secret treasure I never did get. I was there I went for it and missed and thought maybe I needed a shovel!!)!)). Anyway, the interface for mobile was a key component to making this work after some reflection. Great interface. 1). Would love a second game. Lowlander 2. Keep it much the same, add a few more colors, some music, more sound effects( loved the power down at the towers.). Nothing major just a sequel with some added atmosphere. Keep the same engine, please. 2). The hope would be this would catch on and you would make some real bank the second time around as it might be hard this first shot. Then we can talk trilogy....
Maybe some simple colors for magic spells, full screen like early ultimas...that had some emotional feel to the powers. Melee combat could be simple sharp spike colors. A simple lowlander intro screen...would be cool.... I guess I could go on forever here as I am not doing the coding for the game, but you are already there so why not create more of what you know is what I figure. There is not any games out there that are quite like this on IOS or Android. 9th dawn just does not cut it, neither does gurk. It is only at GOG thru Ultimas.
Not sure where to head to next after getting the boat from the Temple. Read some earlier posts about Castle Pynchon? If that's where I go, I must have missed (forgot) a clue. Is that right? If so, any ideas where it is? Really enjoying this one! Agree about quest log and map labels. Otherwise, I don't think I'd change a thing. Great old school!
bobish, There aren't any major clues to where the castle is. I think someone in an island village near the Temple may say something about it. It's not hidden but it's inland, in the upper part of the continent east of the Temple. If you want to know exactly, it's at Spoiler 362, 50 .
So I'm clearly missing something on how to find the spiked boots. I have the first two alloys, but still no sign of the boots... Any pointers?
Absolutely, first class, awesome game. My only criticism is that I can't (yet) play Lowlander 2. I did need the forum a couple of times for hints, I progressed as far as not-being-able-to-find Abhorrence, and then after that I needed a hint about visiting Anaka. And here's my gift to you all! https://i.imgur.com/ZzJSp32.jpg
I my 13 year old son finished in 8 hrs and 12 min. He gets the $50 bucks I promised him. Congrats to him. Now he is rushing to play dying light..(Xbox one I think)
