Hi guys, thanks for checking in on me. I am trying to wrap up my testing so I can get this update/expansion submitted soon. I think it is about ready to go after some last minute checks. Then I will be turning my attention to finding a work-around for the bug in iOS 15 that is causing the game to not work right with newer iPhones. I was hoping Apple would fix this in a patch release, but it hasn't happened. I look forward to getting back to Star Portal after that.
Something to consider for Space Portal if it’s not too much hassle is to make the game playable in landscape mode. That might be too much of a stretch but for those of us who tend to play on a tablet and not a phone, landscape is often much easier and more comfortable then portrait.
Lost Portal 1.4 is now available! Hope you enjoy the new cards/dungeons/enemies. Now I can start trying to figure out a work-around for that weird iOS issue with newer iPhones and animations.
Happy to see the release of the new dlc, but unfortunately something went wrong after the update. When I´m going inside the store there is a "IAP unavailable" message on the dlc´s. Even on the other one that I already bought... .
Now it worked. No clue what happened. Bought the new dlc and look forward to play it. By the way great game, keep up the good work on your new game.
FWIW I don’t see any additional player portraits. But bigger, you can now replace a current creature with a different one from your hand? That’s a game changing difference. Even bigger, it looks like while you take on the capabilities of the creature you’re placing from your hand, the attack and defense factors of the creature being replaced are added to the new one. A huge change. And very weird. Quite the difference. [edit] Okay, maybe it only buffs the attack value. Haven’t played enough to see if it’s a total add or just a +1 or something but still, just being able to replace a creature is a huge difference. Totally changes the game.
The Feldyr expansion does not add additional player portraits, that picture above is the Aerahym expansion description. As for the Consume ability, only certain creatures have it and the ones that do indicate what effect occurs when they consume another creature when coming into play. Some get +1/+1, some let you draw a card, etc. Definitely nice to be able to replace a creature that got poisoned or otherwise crippled with a new creature and gain some effect.
Okay. And I see the consume: capability listed now. I’ve seen these cards for so long I rarely look at the descriptions anymore. It might be useful to define consume when someone clicks on the capability. E.g. if someone currently clicks on “Consume:Might” they get a definition of Might but no mention of consume.
I agree - I have modified the description now to also include an explanation of when the ability will activate. Ie, "This ability activates when this creature is cast on top of another creature in play." or "This ability activates at the start of your turn.", etc. It will be part of the next update.
Testing out the new update, and I'm liking a lot of what I see. There is one issue though: The updated Enlightened trait seems to be reducing the amount of exp I earn, instead of increasing it. At least I think that's what's going on, because with 35 Wisdom, I'm earning a lot less exp than I used to before the update.
I just retested that, and instead of giving a flat 10% bonus it now gives a percentage equal to wisdom/100. In the case I tested, instead of 85 xp*1.10 (ie, 94xp), with a 25 wisdom the player gained 85*1.25 = 106 xp. Maybe give me a specific example of the enemy you defeated and the amount of xp you gained and I can verify it.
FWIW I just, with the bare 20 wisdom, beat one of the trolls that are normally 18 VP and I got 22 for it. That seems correct, rounded up.
Yeah, it looks like I was wrong, it happens that I had just fought an enemy who gives very little exp. I'm in Stratos, I beat a Lightning Imp and it gave me 68 exp, which seemed suspiciously low, which is why I reported about the low exp gain. But then I beat a Djinn, and it gave me 135 exp, which seems correct for 35 Wisdom. So the issue was with the Lightning Imp giving less exp than I was expecting.
That is a bit low. I do see some low XP values for the enemies in the new expansion as well, so I'll tweak those in an update soon.
When a Goblin Firebrand is consumed, the consumer seems to be immune to the damage effect. I don’t know if that’s intentional or not, but it seems to be another kind of big advantage of the consume capability. I’d have expected some serious heartburn or something.
The consume effect occurs just before the new creature comes into play, thus it escapes the damage as you've noted. Definitely makes for a good consume target!
From what I can see, enemy exp seems to be tied to enemy stat totals. I'm in Archendyl right now, on Medium Difficulty, and Floating Eye enemies have very low stat totals (52 to my 110 stat totals at level 35), and give very little exp: 20 exp, and that's after adding the 35% bonus exp from max Wisdom
I might suggest that the new enlightened might be too much of an improvement (though with the problems I’m having winning (extreme) now particularly with the new consume capability I might be wrong). I was thinking that 1/2 the wisdom value rounded up might be better. That would start you off, when you first get it, at the old value if I recall correctly. It still gives you a reason to bump wisdom as you get an extra percent for every 2 you add. Just a thought.
I have that fixed in an upcoming patch, which I just submitted to Apple. A few of the enemies were too low, which I have adjusted.
