@TheSop - you never have to worry about buying the IAP expansions twice - Apple knows you already own it and will let you download it on any other device on the same account for free. There is a restore button in the game that you can press to retrieve the IAP purchases. Never mind about iExplorer - the next update will have file sharing enabled, so you can just use iTunes to drag/drop Lost Portal's files onto your computer and then copy them back onto the new phone.
Thank you for your reply, does that file share have to be done on a Laptop/PC or can it be done on my iPhone? Do you know when you are aiming to release this update?
Yes, file sharing is between the iPhone/iPad and iTunes on the computer. The update is still a few weeks away; still need a few artworks and more testing.
That’s good because I don’t have a PC, only a phone and iPad. Would it just be a case of dropping a certain file onto my cloud drive? Sorry if I sound dumb, I have never used this function before, normally games sync using Game Center or Facebook.
Sorry, I don't think file sharing will work without a computer. It is a feature for the iTunes that runs on the computer to have access to files on your iPhone or iPad and drag/drop between them. It sounds like you'd need iCloud saves, which Lost Portal does not support.
Just bought your game yesterday and really liking it so far! Got the dlc as well and can’t wait for the next one. Any chance of adding some way to grind gold/xp against respawnable mobs during the campaign? I know there’s some randomized end-game content but I feel like I’m missing a bit of the grind element typically found in rpgs. Also I wasn’t sure if this was intentional, but after I win a duel there seems to be somewhat of a lengthy delay before I can exit out of the experience gained screen. Might just be me though! Thanks for the awesome game!!
@Claurence So glad you are enjoying Lost Portal. Progress on the Primeval expansion is going well, I just incorporated some new artwork for the new dungeons and town and they look really good (see below). A little more play testing and it will hopefully be ready to go. I have to make sure the AI isn't too stupid with the new cards, for example. Regarding your questions - I have given some thought into adding some form of grinding ability in the various towns, perhaps a random dungeon or providing a way of resetting an existing quest/dungeon, however nothing is implemented yet. It is on the wish list, though, and I have eventually gotten to some of them on there. For instance, this next update will have card sellers in dungeons return their inventory to town so you don't have to dive back into the dungeon to see if they have that one card you wanted. As for a delay before closing your player card (after gaining experience), I'm not able to reproduce that. I just tried on an iPhone 7+ and an iPad mini 3, and immediately pressed a corner of the card and it exited. I also tested swiping to close it and that seemed to work quickly as well. Depending on your device there is some delay as the game switches screens from duel to campaign, but that normally isn't bad. If you are running on an older device the delay is definitely longer. Mike
Thanks for the reply - the art looks amazing! No rush on the grinding feature, I'm just a sucker for anything that would prolong the campaign since it's just that much fun. On the other hand, I was browsing a few posts back and saw that you might be implementing a skirmish/survival mode of some sort. Is that still in the works? I also just realized you could swipe out of the player card, sorry about the false alarm! I was tapping like crazy before and nothing was happening
I have started a survival mode, but it went on the back burner when I decided to create the new expansion. Now that Primeval is almost finished, I will have to decide on what to do next. I'd like to go back to the survival mode, but I also want to start making some headway on a new game, so we'll see.
Porting to Android is not actively being considered due to the amount of time/effort that would be involved. I do appreciate the interest. Perhaps I will take another look at Unity one of these days so that porting future games is more feasible.
Yes, the Primeval expansion is now available with version 1.1.13. It adds 40 new cards, a new town and 4 new dungeons with some pretty tough new enemies. Also included are some 'quality of life' improvements - - You can now forge copies of cards you own by dragging them from your library to the forge. This costs more than forging cards already in the forge, but does allow you to get more dual-aeons of a particular color, for example. - Card sellers in dungeons now return their inventory to town after you visit them, so you don't have to wander through dungeons looking for that one seller that had a card you wanted but couldn't afford at the time. This version also includes a new App Store icon.
Hi Mike, just joined the forum because I was eager to ask a question and make a suggestion for a new feature. Been playing on and off since early on and really love your game. Okay, so my question is; can you improve the AIs decision making when using destructions and and any other areas where it might seem like the player could be winning unfairly because the AI damaged a large threat without killing it instead of killing a threat that it could have. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes I lose unfairly too due to aeon screw (play on mana screw from MTG lol), but that’s the nature of the beast. Wish it felt like I was playing against opponents on my level more often without increasing their health etc. On that note, my suggestion was a 2 player pass and play mode where you could play against another person offline by having you take turned building or choosing a deck from the same collection and switching character perspectives between turns. That would be really cool to see what kind of decks other ppl are coming up with. Even an online mode would be amazing. Last thing I want to say to you and I apologize for the long post. Thank you for saving me thousands of dollars I would have been spending on Hearthstone for years to come. - Peace Paul
@paul Yes, I can definitely take a look at making the AI smarter as you suggest. Consider it on the list for me to look into for a future update. Regarding pass and play, that is certainly more feasible than a network multiplayer mode, as the game was not designed for that. I'll add it to the wish list and give it some thought for a future update. I already have another gameplay mode that is on the back burner as well, for a quick play/survival mode.
Hey Mike. First off - really love the game. Got it back in 16 and I’m still playing. I just got the expansion and found a funny bug. I haven’t been in the forum before, so I don’t know if someone already found it. Anyway, If the AI gets 3 lightning elemental cards in play, and have an ice breath on hand, it will keep on damaging you forever (well, until you shut the program down). Thanks for a great game - Peter
@peter - thanks for the feedback! I will take a look at that. It should have at least stopped after you reached zero life, but I don't like having that sort of infinite recursion, so I will probably rethink the lightning elemental's abilities. Expect this to be fixed in an upcoming update!
I remember recommending this to you a long time ago. Did others voice their support for this upgrade? I bought the new expansion immediately sight unseen. If you need any more feedback for LP updates or your next game, let me know and I'd be happy to provide it or even play-test for you.
@IOSgamer1980 - thanks for the support! Yes, I had a request for this crop up a few times and I figured out a way to do it that wasn't too difficult to implement. I always appreciate the feedback, thanks.
