Thanks guys! I appreciate all the great feedback. This has been a great learning experience and a lot of fun. Financially, I don't know if/when this game will be profitable, but I will continue to support and improve it and we'll see. I just submitted 1.0.7 update for review with Apple.
Coming from a man that counts (and covets!) every penny as if it were pure gold - I know you may want to avoid the pay model of IAP's considering the 'premium' aspect that Lost Portal has been built on thus far - but I don't think anyone here would disagree, we have already had more than our money's worth from the base game and would be perfectly happy to buy future pack expansions (or perhaps an online vs mode?!) for additional payment if it helped you turn a profit finally. I understand and commend your principle of creating a premium title with a one off payment, but even humanitarian aid volunteers need to eat so why not a dedicated game Dev giving up his time?.....ok, poor analogy but you see what I'm getting at. Thanks again for all the hard work.
Yes, that is the long term plan - to provide IAP's for expansions (i.e., new cards, new enemies, new dungeons). Before that can be done, I need to further grow the user base, so I will continue trying to improve the base game. For example, now that 1.0.7 is ready to go, I'm going to turn my attention back to getting some additional end-game content in there, which should add more replay value. Once that is done, I may finally look toward an expansion and/or new game modes. Thanks again for the support!
Any thought on a draft format or sealed deck format? The game is already five stars in my book, just wondering what other formats you envision for the future.
Yes, I will definitely consider some form of draft and sealed formats when considering new game modes. I've already given some thought to both and how they could be implemented. I think they'd both give the game a lot of replay value beyond the campaign mode.
Got through the review process quickly; the update is available now... 1.0.7 version includes: - 16 powerful new boss Avatar cards added, including 2-color cards and gold cards - UI improvements, now you can single tap to view the large/detail version of a card - Additional help text during character creation - New animation when main quest completed - Card tweaks and bug fixes Title Screen - Series of tips displayed - Review button jumps to App Store so you can now easily leave a review UI Changes - View large card with single tap instead of double tap - Double tap a card filter to select just that filter, disabling the rest - Double tap again on that card filter when it is only selected and reset them all - Long press a card filter to get a description of that filter - Swipe left/right now works when viewing large cards for creatures in play during a duel. Card Tweaks - Swarm of Spiders now summons up to 3 spiders - Fiendish Plan costs 3 - Rachnor costs 2 - Wearbeast has 2 life Card Abilities - New ability keyword: Armor Piercing - Fatigued: now is a count of the number of turns before a creature can attack Main Quest Completed - Added animation when the main quest is completed - Player selection screen now indicates "Main quest completed" for a character that has completed the main quest
@CrayonWarrior - This is after updating to 1.0.7? I am definitely not seeing that, with new or existing characters. Not sure what is happening. Can't you try creating a new character and see if it happens again?
Thank you for the update 1.0.7 but unfortunately the cards - enemies on stages don't reveal and you cannot do anything. You move next to the cards but remain closed. I noticed that only the blank cards appear and disappear (obviously), the others remain stuck. :-(
Yup started a new game and the top left room is bugged where the last two tiles won't uncover and you can't leave. Welp going to wait for a patch. Shit happens even to some of the best developers
I still can't reproduce this, but obviously something is wrong with this build. I just removed it from the App Store to prevent anyone else from downloading and will hopefully get to the bottom of this soon.
Okay, I was finally able to reproduce this. I'm testing a fix now and I hope to have a new version submitted for review shortly.
Update 1.0.8 submitted to Apple for review. I will reinstate the app as soon as this gets approved. Thanks for your patience!
Thank you for your efforts on this great game! I plan to start a new character with this build, but am still highly anticipating endgame content- I'm hoping for random dungeons that can be explored over and over again.
End-game content is next on the list, hopefully for the next update (barring any more breakage that requires an emergency patch). The idea will be that you find a new portal that can be opened to many places, so you'll be able to step through it and explore new areas that have some random dungeons, then come back through the portal. I've got some new dungeon artwork and even a new dungeon tile set to go with it, so looking forward to getting it to you.
