Love the idea of customisable game. The mana stack is a bit optional if you ask me. If you get nothing but mana cards for 5 rounds, you have too much mana cards in your deck. I keep about 15 mana cards in my desk plus some fireflies. (Playing with a red deck ATM). Any ETA on updates or new content? I'm massively addicted to this game.
@Tikanderoga Glad you are enjoying the game - I have made some progress on the next update, which so far includes: NEW DIFFICULTY LEVELS Two additional difficulty levels, "casual" which is between easy and normal and "rough" which is between normal and hard. Both new difficulty levels allow tougher enemies without risk of losing as much in losses. For example, "rough" has enemies as hard as "hard", but you don't have the risk of losing cards. Long term I'll consider more customization options. ABILITY POINT BUYBACK A new button on the Ability Trainer screen that allows you to 'unspend' a point, even regaining half of the gold you had spent. This allows a lot of flexibility to undo mistakes or try another ability. AEON EXCHANGE I have been looking for ways to make multi-color decks more playable, and am currently testing this idea. Let me know what you think. When casting a card, the game will automatically convert 4 of one Aeon color to another color. So if you have 4 blue and 1 red in your aeon field, you could cast a 2 casting cost red spell. If you had 8 blue and 1 red, you could cast a 3 cost red spell. So far in my testing I love it, but I have more testing to do to make sure it isn't too powerful. If so, I may have to limit it somehow. Other bug fixes and minor improvements will also be included as well. I don't have an ETA, but probably in a week or two depending on how testing goes. I am still designing bigger changes such random dungeons, so expect that to take longer.
4:1 is a good ratio I think. Anything lower would make any multicolour decks very powerful, especially in the beginning. The silver cards already benefit from a multicoloured deck big time already. I have replaced most of my aeon cards with multicoloured cards in order always be able to cast the silver cards. So from a balance perspective, I would ensure early enemies don't whack you with multicoloured decks, else things can get out of hand very quickly.
That aeon exchange mechanic sounds cool, but I'm a little concerned about it because it's a major mechanic change to the game (not saying it's bad though). I take it in order to get the mechanic to trigger, you have to have at least 1 red aeon out in play already? Otherwise no need for the secondary colour at all. This would make multicolour decks particularly strong because they no longer need to balance the deck with enough single colour aeons. Say red and blue. The deck no longer needs to have say 10 blue and 10 red aeon in order to have the mana draw. Instead of those 10 red spaces, those can now be taken up with creatures or spells, making the deck stronger. To me that's a significant game mechanic change (not saying it's a bad thing).
I'll definitely keep testing and make sure things are balanced before making this change. I am currently debating limits on the mechanic, including possibly limiting how many times it can be used to cast a particular card, and as you suggested requiring at least 1 of the actual color.
I think this is cool, better than changing some cards to multi-colour. I am not sure if the ratio is fine or not. Anyway I have not played all the colours (still sticking with blue) and I already think some cards may be a bit too powerful (especially when I am not playing them!), will let you know later.
Btw, got some typos to fix: Ability trainer: Agility, last tier: (euqal to your...) Wisdom, poisonous, equal to your Wisodm.
Thanks, fixed! Also just fixed the AI killing themselves by casting Nameless Horror when at 2 life or less. Will be in the next update.
Been stalking this thread as I am new to ccg and am not a fan of the online only games. My biggest problem is the back log of other games. I'm impressed with the creator being so engaged and dial giving here on TA. That aline will likely pull the trigger when I have finished a few games that have been stuck on my iPhone for to long.
Something I see in other games is a New Game+, where you keep some of your stuff, but you can replay the game with a head start. Say you can keep some of your cards, or even keep your levels or something like that. Then maybe even be able to change the difficulty to something harder if you feel like it.
Instead of restarting the game, I am looking at adding new content to the end game that will give you something to do once you finish the main quest. I am still designing, but I am looking at adding random dungeons that you can explore and continue to challenge yourself with.
Just wanted to say I've invested many hours in this and it's a really great little game. Just finished the game on extreme mode and looking forward to the new content. I found blue and black to be the strongest colours by some distance and sleight of hand to be insanely overpowered. The new grey cards also break the game to some extent if you pump wisdom - had a game where I dropped both Thunderous Dragon and put a Balrock's Ring on it on turn 2. Can't remember when I've enjoyed a CCG so much on iOS - thanks
@Andrwrwn - thanks for the great feedback - I'll definitely consider your comments carefully and may have some tweaks for the next update. Glad you are having fun with the game!
Hello, I'm stuck. I am level 27, I have defeated the boss on Coradym, Rienta's Tower and I don't know where else to go.. On Coradym, outside on the map, the little diamond is brown and not green but I have no clue what to do.. Any hint? Thank you.
Hi nkarafo, Sorry you are having an issue, let me see if I understand what you are seeing. You've defeated the boss in Rienta's Tower - have you tried to turn in the quest in Coradym, with Zantara Cloudspire? What color outline, if any, does she have around her? And just to be clear, you are saying the diamond below Rienta's Tower is brown on the world map (as opposed to red or green)?
Yes, I have defeated the boss (a cyborg thing) and return then to Zantara Cloudspire. She says "Thank you for putting Rienta to rest.He was...not be forgotten." She has a black outline and no, the diamond below Coradym (the middle one where Zantara is, has the brown color. All the 3 others: Rienta's Tower, Golem Works and Mines of Mograt have green diamond, so I suppose I have completed all of them. So, I have to do something in Coradym but everyone has black outline and not white and I don't know what to do next..
@nkarafo - so you've actually completed the entire game! You've probably already talked to Brye Daek in Coradym who congratulates you and says you should rest as you may be needed again soon.
Sad.. I didn't to end so easily.. I talked to Brye Daek and he says "thank you for protecting our city..." I thought it would bring some credits, a ending scene, something like that. Actually I wanted to play a final boss that would be very hard to win.. I have read previously that you will bring more cards for the new update. Will it continue from Coradym ?? Thank you!
@nkarafo - I will be coming up with random dungeons that open from Coradym, but that won't be in the very next update. I am getting close with the next update (1.0.6). I expect to submit it to Apple for review soon.
