Sorry to hear you are having a difficult start to the game. I am currently working to improve the AI and will also be taking a look at tweaking the difficulty (to make sure it doesn't get even harder to start with smarter AI). In the meantime, you might want to start a game on easy, which still isn't too easy.

Thanks for the reply! I tried changing to a black starter deck, and bumping it down to easy. I was able to defeat the rat mage on my first go. Huzzah! ...and then the next enemy, a WIld Elf, beat me two more times before I finally got her. I'm finding that my earlier predictions still hold true: until you can tweak your starting deck sufficiently, it all comes down to early draws. Losing money for each loss makes this wide luck factor sting more early on (when you really need that cash for better cards).

I do have a suggestion -- similarly to some RPGs, where you can take one action + one movement OR two movements, allow the player to play one additional aeon or draw an extra card, in lieu of playing a non-aeon card to the field.

Any game that you pull your mana base out of your deck will have you screwed every once in a while. Just the nature of the beast man.

Yep, similar to MTG in that regard. You should make sure your deck has a high enough percentage of aeons to improve your odds of having enough resources to play your spells. But too high a percentage can be bad too, as you can end up with a hand full of aeons and nothing to cast. One of the reasons I came up with aeon-abilities was to give you something to do with extra aeons in the late game. I think it works really well; as you can maybe use the aeon to draw another card or deal damage, etc. making those extra aeons really useful. It is wise to save any extra aeons just in case you draw a creature that needs them (i.e., Bog Troll), rather than just blinding playing them for aeon energy you don't need (say past 6-7, depending on what is in your deck).

    2 questions of late:

With the gatekeeper perk, how is the random card decided on? Like, where is it pulled from. I was expecting my own deck, but evidently it's not, so where?

    2) I'm sure it just seems this way, but could there be any possibility that cards found on the map, and won from battles have a lesser chance of being the colour required for your current deck, or more specifically, mine is blue.....have you implemented some bias against blue!!!???!! Because I deadset just keep pulling everything but blue!!!!

    @Talbs

    1. The Gatekeeper ability creates the random creature from a list of common creatures, so it could be any color.

    2. It is random, so you've just been unlucky! Definitely no bias coded in to have you find cards that don't match your deck color.

I've submitted update 1.03 to Apple for review, so hopefully it will come out in a few days. This update includes:

    - pathfinding for improved walking through dungeons/towns (now you can press anywhere visible)
    - improved performance of the target highlighting
    - improved resolution of small cards for non-retina displays
    - AI improvements for blocking and a few other changes
    - slightly weaker starting enemies

I still have more AI improvements to make, but I didn't want to hold up the other changes, so they'll come in the next update.

    @luckystrikeguy

Thanks! My to-do list still has quite a few things on it, including "more stuff", so the updates will keep coming.

I've had a lot of suggestions for new game modes and of course new cards. Something to do after the end-game (i.e., portals to random dungeons of increasing difficulty).

New patch works really well! :whew:

BTW, if you can make the cars on the play field bigger for iPad, it would be great.

    Thanks for the continuous effort!

I have updated it but now I cannot zoom in / out - see full card when having played. I can see the cards on my hand but not when these have been placed on board. Neither opponent's, neither mine.

I am interested but how long does the campaign lasts. I need some good value to justify purchase :)

3 questions which I would like answered please.

    1) How does this game compare to the big boys like hearthstone and magic in terms of presentation and playability?

    2) Do you create an account so you can play on multiple devices? This is important to me as I am constantly deleting games and don't want to lose progess.

    3) Is there a card list anywhere online?

@Angmodurian = I have not yet completed it but I am on level 17 and have played around 5-10 hours. I don't know if I am in the middle of the game but for such a small amount of money that you have to pay only ONCE, this game has a very good value of money. However, IF the developer will make an extra mode as a random battle / skirmish with random enemies and random cards every time, the replayability will skyrocket to the moon and beyond!! :)

    1) No, unfortunately the biggest complain that I have for this game is the presentation but if this game has been made by only one person or a small team, still this game is awesome! The playability or the gameplay on the other hand is very very good! If you like games like magic the gathering, orions, etc then I believe you will like it. If you seek another hearthstone title, no this is not one.

    2) No you cannot create an account and it's pointless I think. It would be nice if we could have an icloud support. :)

    3) There is a website but I don't know if in there, there is a full card list..
    http://lostportalccg.com/

    -Advantages of the game-
    I) DOES NOT require an internet connection all the time
II) DOES NOT require to buy with real money booster packs or play infinite games to find randomly good cards to defeat opponents
III) Different strategy than Hearthstone and I prefer Lost Portal's (this is my opinion). You have aeons (like mana on Magic the Gathering) and you use them for two purposes: for summon heroes / monsters and spells and for using actions of the heroes / monsters.
IV) CPU has good A.I. and plays some times devilishly good ( :) ) This is definitely a good point and I love when you are going to die and some times you actually win "reversing the tables".
    V) It is fast to play the battles in contrary to Magic: Duels
    VI) Deck building

    -Disadvantages of the game-
    I) Not too much good presentation / effects / menus / NPC / etc
II) Only one mode - campaign
III) Some opponents grab you hard-earned money on random I think (some times low gold and some times very high!)
IV) Somehow confused with the exits and portals
    V) No multiplayer (local or internet).

To summarize: For me, this game is an awesome title that came out of nowhere and I have been playing it non-stop. I was on metro and I was playing, some times when I had arrived on my stop, I didn't want to stop playing but to continue with the duel until it will be finished!! Yesterday I was playing on the road until arriving to my place, something unusual to me. This game is pure addictive!

I didn't see this while testing, but just reproduced on a mini that has iOS 8 installed. I've got a fix for it and will be pushing an update for this after a little more testing, so I'll get this out asap! Sorry for the breakage.
