does anyone use one of the looptastic apps? i have a lite version and 'gold' (which i'm not sure of the difference), and have the other looptastic apps in my appshopper wishlist. just today, looptastic producer went on sale for $8 (normally $15), and i'm trying to decide if i should get it.

i'm not a musician or a dj, so it's really just to mess around with for fun.

i guess my real question is what's included in the producer edition. does it basically combine the other editions into one app? what advantage would i have with the producer edition over the lite and gold editions?

I think that the producer edition comes with all the other Loops, I don't know if the others have recording loops with the mic or control XY layer, play 20 loops at the same time or AudioCopy/Paste as well.

I bought the produce edition at full price and I don't regret it :)

thanks, gadm. i read a bit more about their various apps, and i managed to talk my self off the ledge (because i was ready to dive right into the app...get it?!?). i think my general lack of skills when it comes to music and mixing will keep me from enjoying the producer version to its full extent. in the end, i figured the gold edition (in which you can do in-app purchases of the other editions or import editions you already bought) will be enough to amuse me.

Hi - I actually work for Looptastic, so obviously I think the upgrade is a great deal (cheaper than a nice lunch and alot more fun!). :^) But I know not everything is right for everybody. However, I *did* though want to point out that I didn't think the new features required any kind of advanced skills. The extra content that spans a taste of all the music genres is a good way to get "a bit of everything" and mix and match without going deep on one library. Plus the stutter edit effect just works like the other effects and the ability to record your own voice as a loop plus the stutter edit is fun at parties. Not too nerdy, still easy :^).
