Oh come now gentlemen, it's just a forum post. I appereciate the kind words but it isn't like that it is actually good writing right?
Yes that is a thing. I should annouce that sooner than later. NOTE TO ALL SPAM POLICE: YOU CAN ACESSES THE BAN AND CLEAN FROM SAFARI ON IPHONE AND IPAD. SIMPLY LOG IN ON SAFARI AND YOU ARE GOOD TO GO.
Just remember that bans are final/near final. Be careful and make sure of your targets. If you pull that trigger YOU are accepting full responsibilty for what happens.
Are we allowed to delete "spam" threads that contain self-promotion/advertising? Threads, where someone with 1 posts goes like "heeyyoooo, look what I totally, superaccidentally found on the Appstore and this is a great game blah blah!"?
Which is exactly why I report a post when I am in doubt, with an explanation why I think it qualifies as spam. Also, I had one account recently that was smart enough to wait a week or two before posting spam.
Sleepers are a problem. Just report him. Do not hesitate to kill full blown all out spammers though. Just bam them.
I really don't get these spammers, it's like they think people are gonna instantly swerve off the site and go buy the random bull they post.
From what I know, this is mainly about disruption: Bayes filter and Search Engine poisoning. Specificially, by flooding them with "harmless" keywords in connection with spam (for the Bayes filters). And getting the links "out there", to be picked up by search engines and influencing their results. Typically, there also are link farms behind those URLs.
Well, some might. Who knows. It's not like they lose anything by sending out those bots on their own, spamming as much forums as possible. But they might get some new customers this way for sure.
