Lysogora Member Feb 8, 2015 22 0 0 Unity3d developer Ukraine #8 Lysogora, May 3, 2015 I've already created such a thread http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=260663 Hopes link to the game thread is in line with forum rules. Lavender Well-Known Member Dec 31, 2013 2,967 0 36 United States #9 Lavender, May 3, 2015 There's no rule for posting your codes public or private. It all depends on what you want out of it and how much extra work you want to make for yourself. This subject comes up all the time when codes are taken with out a thanks. As for 'code of conduct' the only actual 'unwritten' rule or 'right thing to do' is that if a TA member takes a code, they are morally obligated to say a thanks and if the developer wants it.... Some feedback in the thread as well. Touch arcade is an open forum. Members and non-members alike can read the posts, including the codes. If a non-member takes a code, they will not give a thanks because they are not registered. And.... Why would they register? They get a free app and no one knows about it and they are probably thinking.... 'Oh.... Freebie......' LOL Mostly ( but not all) members at TA are here because they love to see the new things coming out, love technology, and love the like minded friendships, and genuinely love to help the developers. Back to 'what you want out of it'...... If you just want your app noticed and do not care if you receive feedback or not, then post codes openly. Less work for the dev. You don't have to pm each code individually. Don't need to keep checking your PM's every 10 minutes or so, and.... You don't have to worry about the possibility of being bombarded with a hundred PM's or posts. If you are busy, this is ideal. Those non-members will still possibly tell others about the app if they like it and it still ups your download count. Like a contest, consider it first come first serve...... If you want feedback from members, then obviously, the only almost guarantee, is to pm the codes. Then you can pm a reminder if necessary. Keep in mind, there's a lot of honesty when it comes to feedback. But even negative feedback can help you improve your game. No matter what, if you want to keep your game alive longer, make sure you keep us updated, and maybe post a video or two at sometime. And.... Be friendly. TA members love devs that are active in the forums. No right or wrong here. As I said.... Depends on what you want out of it. Honestly, when the app is only a dollar or two, it doesn't matter. . macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #10 macplash, May 3, 2015 Lavender, amen to that, sister Beautifully written. Makoto Well-Known Member Jun 7, 2014 306 1 18 #12 Makoto, May 4, 2015 Hi, dev, I wonder if this game shares similar mechanism with the other game of you, Lines of Light? Not that I'm criticizing or anything like that, it's just that I don't quite catch the game description of this game, and I think maybe I can try LoL first to understand Logic it! (since their screenshots look similar to each other), lest I waste your time and codes Lysogora Member Feb 8, 2015 22 0 0 Unity3d developer Ukraine #13 Lysogora, May 4, 2015 Hi, Makoto, you are right - mechanics is the same Sure you can try LoL first, or even Lines of Harmony and, if you like them I will give you a promo code. It's especially interesting for me to het to know which predesigned patterns (irresprctively of game ,echanics and teleporting features) are better for players - those in LoH or in LoL and Logic It! Lavender Well-Known Member Dec 31, 2013 2,967 0 36 United States #14 Lavender, May 4, 2015 Game is enjoyable with creative puzzles. I like the minimalistic look. When I first started playing, I was a bit confused because I don't think the directions were very clear, although it was easy to figure out after a few tries. The first puzzle (or maybe 2?) were very easy. Which is good to get to know the game. But then, the next puzzles became difficult quite fast. I feel like there should be a better transition. Don't get me wrong. Still love the game! There is one thing that drives me crazy though. I like that I can use my two fingers to make the puzzle larger (magnified) or smaller, but..... It doesn't lock or stay in one place on the screen. It is like I halve to keep chasing the puzzle around. I keep accidentally 'flicking ' it while playing. Sigh...... Also, I think there should be some hints available. Maybe the player earns more points if they are not used? It's a great time waster. The music is very nice and soothing. Very enjoyable 'thinking' game. matyou98 Well-Known Member Jun 18, 2012 293 3 18 #15 matyou98, May 4, 2015 If there are any promo codes left, I would love to try this. Lysogora Member Feb 8, 2015 22 0 0 Unity3d developer Ukraine #16 Lysogora, May 4, 2015 Thank you for the feedback! i'll fix scaling bug and try to introduce hints mechanism in the next update. Currently, I decide between two types of hints - lighting up incorrectly rotated elements or demonstrating completed puzzle for 5-10 seconds. First variant looks better for me. What's your opinion? Makoto Well-Known Member Jun 7, 2014 306 1 18 #17 Makoto, May 4, 2015 Thanks for your reply! Lavender Well-Known Member Dec 31, 2013 2,967 0 36 United States #19 Lavender, May 4, 2015 I agree with the first variant. Demonstrating the completed puzzle might take away the challenge for some people. Allthough.... if you really wanted to give yourself some extra work.... (smile) ... you could possibly set up 3 levels. Easy, medium, hard. Use some cute terms, like.. um... relaxed, focused, alert or Calm, bold, ambitious. Easy - unlimited hints or the ability to demonstrate the completed puzzle for 5 to 10 seconds, like you wrote, at any time. Medium - 10 or so allowed hints (the lighting up incorrectly rotated elements hint you mentioned) per puzzle. Hard - no hints or help whatsoever . i am so happy that you are listening to feedback about the scaling. it is quite funny, actually. I expand it a little and then while playing, the game floats away from me. LOL Good luck! Lysogora Member Feb 8, 2015 22 0 0 Unity3d developer Ukraine #20 Lysogora, May 4, 2015 Nice idea! It really requires some extra workPerhaps, I'll try to add additional parameters for complexity differentiation (time pressure, rotations per element limit) ASAP.
