Well that may be the case with AT&T in the US, but in other territories there are 3G networks that actually work! As in the early days of online fps for PC (when we used to play on 56k dial up modems!), there are many tricks a dev can do to improve performance and minimize lag. Just simply optimizing the graphics depending on your connection type could help or matching players based on similar connection types. Other simple things like optimizing the controls, re-spawn locations, health and damage, pickup locations, map design, weapons etc all could help minimize any potential problems. The auto-fire is most likely not due to that, but the actual limits of touch controls - not being able to aim and shoot at same time. Besides, they do allow manual fire - just tap the reticule - but then you can't be aiming - ARGH. p.s. In my last post, I was making the point that the 3G multiplayer is what makes this game unique and potentially 1 of the most ground breaking games ever. I mean do you remember the 1st time you played an online FPS on your PC? Now think of that on a mobile phone, anywhere, anytime. Of course, as you say, it remains to be seen whether it will actually work. But if it does, it would be absolutely f**king amazing!
I live in America and I pretty much always get fast 3g even when traveling through the mountains. But maybe it's just cuz I live in southern California and it's highly populated
My 3G is laggy EVERYWHERE I go and some times it's even non-existant... I need to call Apple about this... ...Do you think it could be because I have an iPod Touch?
i also want to know when this is coming out. i hope it won't be too expensive but it does look pretty amazing this should come out soon because they said soon after the 3.0 update and that has already gone. doesn't will it will come out soon though.i can't actually think of any other games i am REALLY looking forward to.
