It's been quite a while since I last grinded through a game almost at one go and immediately started a new save (because I burnt every single thing including what shouldn't be burnt). A really great experience.
Damn.. I burnt the paper heart ... I know ill pay for it later. But heart magnet really sounded obvious.. But it wasnt :/ I know 2d boy never update, and they never have to. Their games are always perfectly crafted before they release it, which is actually what I love about them, but I have to say I was really hoping brick + letter would equal some sort of a ransom note combo. I'm usually quite cheap with iOS games because new games usually have a sale in less than a week and will wait for a sale, but with 2dboy I intentionally want to buy the game not on sale. I wish I could have paid more for the game. I am enjoying it way more than I anticipated. Well at first I thought I would, then after reading comments about how it's not a game, I started to wonder. After playing for 20 minutes, I'm completely in love. It's an experience, just like world of goo, the soundtrack, the characters, the storyline, the humour, it all comes together to make something that is very rare on the iOS platform, or any platform for that matter. I almost have an emotional connection somehow..it's weird, I don't know how to explain it. The game is truly brilliant. If I had 1 wish from a genie it'd simply be that 2d boy continue to release games! That's all I ask. Please don't waste those brilliant creative game ideas, share them with the world.
Ok, this game rocks! But I need help with some combos. I'm on the last catalog and still can't find these combos! Lol kitty Watching you Airplane mode Wake up Can someone help me with these?
Ill give you one.. It's best to figures these out yourself, doesn't matter how long it takes. Enjoy the game to its fullest by finding them out yourself! I have many combos I've yet to find but I don't want help..cause then the game will be over and ill be wishing I hadn't spoiled it for myself so I had more gameplay time! Anyhoo. Watching you = Spoiler tv + camera
I'm so tempted to look up a guide myself.. Is frustrating when you're stuck, but it's so much more rewarding when you find a combo yourself. I've got about 20 I'm still racking my brain on.. It'll probably take me weeks to finish but it'll be so rewarding when I do, if I don't ruin it for myself!
Any word on a touch/iPhone release? Even though world of goo is hard on touch I found it fun on the wii.
The hints here are multi-level to give you nudges in the right direction without spoiling too much: http://infernofans.com/catalog/combos
Ooo I was thinking yesterday I just wish I could know the correct catalogs..because if you do the combos in order you get to know the catalog it's from anyway, so it's not really cheating. Thanks for that. But it's gonna be so hard not to just click for the answer when it's that close.. Will be a good test of self control.
80 combos solved, having a hard time with the last ones. Part of me wants to search the internet for clues/solutions, but I know I'll feel a heck of a lot more accomplishment if I solve them myself.
This is one of those games, you must be in the right mood, sit down, zone out and let the game experience draw you, then you will appreciate the game for what it is. At least in my humble opinion.
I kinda zipped right through on the first playthrough, now on the second, I'm watching what I burn and enjoying the underlying humor and meaning of it all.
Out of absolutely nowhere TA has the quickest review ever and gives this 'game' ten million stars out of 5? *sniff* does anyone else catch that faint aroma? A couple of friends bought this game when it came out for the pc, and they were VERY ANGRY after 'playing' it. This thing really, really feels like one of those things where people are buying it just because other people are buying it. Don't fall for it folks - spend your money on supporting Heroes & Castles instead...
I spent my money on both, and couldn't be happier. Two opposite sides of the spectrum! It ain't millions we are talking about here.
Very disappointed by this. I did what I was told and read nothing about it before purchasing, expecting something really unusual and different. What a let down. Plenty of charm, sure. And a nice,if painfully obvious story (especially if you've played Limbo or Braid, which are actual games and not just touching stories), but the gameplay itself is pretty non-existent. If someone had said "by the way it's not *really* a game" beforehand I wouldn't have minded. But the who,e combo thing is just to distract you from the fact there's no gameplay really, it's all about telling the story of why you're burning stuff. And I wanted to play a game, not be told a touching story through abstract 'gameplay'. Oh well! It is pretty, at least. Just not much 'fun'.
