Anyone else anticipating this? Looks pretty good from what I've seen. It's a shame they took out multiplayer.

I have it on pre-order, but I'll check to see what the download price is before picking it up. It does look amazing -- the first PSP game i've seen recently that makes me want to check out the platform again. Too bad I'll have to see it on that fuzzy PSP 1000 screen...

I'm saving up for a PSP Go. Something tells me that it's worth the money.

Wait for the inevitable massive price drop. The few people I still know who work retail have sold hilariously few and I've yet to read a review that has anything good to say about them. If PSN on the PSP Go is as big of a joke as it is on the PS3... Wow, just wow. ;)

I do love Little Big Planet for the PS3, not sure if I could bring myself to dust off the ol' PSP though. (Especially since playing this would likely involve updating my firmware and currently I value being able to play FF6 and Chrono Trigger flawlessly over LBP.)

Not really, unless you need that particular form factor. You can play the same games on an older PSP model that you can probably find used or refurbished for a lot less money.

Probably find cheaper? Hell, you can get the old PSP plus whatever game bundle you choose for $200. Seeing the old PSP + Game pack sitting right next to the PSP Go selling for $50 is a real head scratcher.

Guess that probably was not really necessary ;).

It's been a while since I've tried to understand Sony marketing strategy.

I wanted a PSP Go, instead I traded my DS and six games for a PSP 2000 and five games plus a whole lot of other stuff. I was pretty happy with the 2000.

Oh and I do plan on getting LBP.

Their strategy is "If you don't get a psp fast enough, then you'll have to pay $50.00 more to get something that's worse! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!"

Retailers are very hesitant to order a lot of Go's because they feared Sony pushing DD would cut them out of the revenue and and customer visitations to stores that they enjoy selling games in physical formats. Especially the former.

And the former is why PSN prices for most PSP games that were originally released on UMD (or are simultaneously released in both formats) are the same as retail. Sony is scared to piss off b&m retailers and because of that are killing the viability of PSN for PSP, IMHO.

Oh...believe me...it's a bigger joke. Much bigger. I can only laugh to hide my disgust at Sony's handling of this. I mean, on a weekly basis you'll see at least a couple of PSN exclusive games for PS3. PSN exclusives for PSP? There were only a handful when I got my PSP. Months passed. Then Unbound Saga came out exclusively as a PSN DD game. Then quite a while passed with nothing until the Go was released and there was finally some real friggin' PSN exclusive support. But that was a few weeks ago. Since then, nothing new. No new minis released in the US. No new PSN for PSP exclusives. Nothing, nada, zilch.

And what's funny is that Sony made the Minis section as a sort of side area for games that were targeted not at portable game systems but rather mobile platforms...like iPhone/touch, etc, and Sony has a damned mobile game development and publishing arm. But there's actually more Sony branded mobile-esque games on iPhone/touch than there is on PSP.

As for Chrono Trigger and FFVI, I'd tell you to wait for the release of Final Fantasy Anthologies and Chronicles (the former has FFVI, the latter Chrono), but hell would freeze over while waiting. SCEA is just...urrgh.

I'm probably going to wait until Black Friday. I'm thinking that Best Buy will drop the price that day.

True. Right now money isn't that much of an objection to me. I still take it into consideration, but it isn't a dealbreaker. What you said is true though. I COULD always get a PSP 3000 and a game for much cheaper.

I preordered it and picked it up Tuesday. It's entertaining but I'm not hooked like I am sometimes when I get a new game. The PSOne classics have actually probably entertained me the most out of all my PSP games.

Yeah, I got it too and right now it just lacks content like the PS3 version has. If the game gets bought more often and actually GOOD creators came along, then the game will be better.

I don't care, I have 6 costumes in LBP PSP that most others won't have for the next 5 months - a year if Sony Cambridge releases the pre order bonuses AT ALL. (I hope they don't, lol) I don't really buy DLC much anyways.

I bought the UMD and went on the store and downloaded the costumes. I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about with releasing the costumes?
