Scaresoul! Yes! I remebered it but the answer was already here, lol... :)
Thanks for that. Scaresoul is really good. Grindy, but enjoyable. And I barely remebered the game, so I either wasn't sure how it exactly worked. But yes, was more a two-button game.

Btw., the second game in the Soul Emmission series: LORD of SOULS (Scaresoul is actually the first game in that universe) just went free. I suggest you to download it, just grabbed it myself. Here's the link:

Nice. Im not sure about this one though, so i hope we get a few Ayes or Nays for this one if it will be included on the list.

Crow's combat may have some properties similar to IB, but it also feels like 3d on-rails shmups similar to ARC Squadron or After burner.

    What a huge list

The majority of the list was unknown for me, but there are certain games that I'm not agree with. Arkham City Lockdown is quite similar, but the mechanic it's really different, there are items (bombs and batarangs and gauntlets) also there are no need of wait for a break window for punch the enemy.

Bladeslinger it's very very different from Infinity Blade, there are hits by swipes, but that it's only the control system; there are guns and special cards and the fight system it's just quite different from Infinity Blade.

Injustice it's more Arkham City Lockdown alike than Infinity Blade. Only because the game it's based on swipes doesn't mean it's Infinity Blade alike.

I really agree with games like Avengers Initiative and Blood and Glory, those are blatant copies of Infinity Blade. Dark Meadow would be way better if they hadn't implement the sword fight and focus on the Bow and another way for gameplay, it's a great game with several issues but indeed have potential.

^ Thanks for the input Farfield. We decided to include Injustice, Arkham City Lockdown and Bladeslinger for the obvious reason that they are at least inspired by the success of Infinity Blade.

Injustice iOS does not follow the original Injustice format at all, which makes it less of the fighting game it's name was taken from, and the gameplay felt all too familiar with the IB formula. This is more taps than swipes, but it does follow the same formula.

Arkham City Lockdown is different in a way that you can initiate the attack instead of the "must-defend" system of IB, but we cant deny how IB influenced ACL. The additional skills and upgrade mechanics are what made them worthy of playing for having it's wn spin in the IB formula.

As for Bladeslinger, it's basically the same as I, Gladiator in which you lock-on to one enemy at a time, IB style, but they introduce a way to freely switch targets. This one, more than the first two, maybe farther from IB, but we'll keep it for now until we get more opinion as to whether the game belongs in the list or not.

With Avengers Initiative and Blood and Glory, I agree they are more pronounced in their IB likeness, so they definitely belong in the list. However, to make a comprehensive list, we try to include games similar to, or inspired by, Infinity Blade and not just the straight out clones.

Technically speaking, these games can be categorized as action games still (punch-out feels more to be this genre's granddaddy), but IB's formula has been used many times over now (and by big-name devs on some), that it can be considered a subgenre on its own.

Again, i really appreciate the input, and would like to hear more from you if you have any info regarding the genre.

Oh, and regarding your opinion on possibly taking out the melee combat in Dark Meadow, have you tried World War Z?

It is exactly as you said how Dark Meadow should work. There is still melee combat in War Z, but the majority of combat is done mainly shooter style.

Also, it's from the same makers of Dark Meadow, and is still a pretty good game on its own.

I've never tried it, but I'll take a look. I usualy don't play movie tie games, I don't know but usually they're never very good.

I agree when you say Infinity Blade has become a subgenre and maybe I was seeing the list thinking they are categorized like clones instead of style alike. Anyway, I felt like I needed to point it out because Infinity Blade it's one of my favorites games ever and I think it's a overused formula. However, I'll check WWZ, thanks :D

WWZ dropped by a buck in price (currently $4 instead of $5) so you might want to check it out.

Im sure the on-rails shooting in WWZ wont bother you much since you actually liked Dark Meadow's Crossbow battle scenes, and in WWZ, the shooting part actually feels more dynamic than in Dark Meadow.

Yeah I saw it, I checked the trailer and some gameplay but honestly it didn't get my interest. Dark Meadow liked to me because of the story, and the atmosphere. Right now, I'm waiting for Deus Ex and I'd like to buy Chaos Rings II. As I said, I don't think many games work as good as Infinity Blade with that game system.
