Yeah, me too. Took me a bit of time to accept that the arrow wasn't supposed to be there. It seems that the pattern for releases is this: Monday = new paid game in app store Tuesday = new AppNavi game Wednesday = old game made free in app store That sound right? Edit: Hmm... Nothing new in the app store? Maybe I was wrong.
Looks like Monkey Island Tales is supposed to be free tonight. Haven't played it yet, so will check it out.
I got the whole series for some ridiculous special like $5 or something on my PC one time, but sadly I never got around to playing them. I should do that one of these days
Just so you all know, I haven't given up on Kaptain Brawe. I just haven't been able to play it enough to comment yet. From what little time I have spent with it, though, I will say they've done a good job of capturing the look and feel of Sierra games (if Sierra had actually made games with a touch screen interface). The interface is pretty easy to use, with a tap activating a context sensitive menu. You double-tap or drag an item out of inventory to use it somewhere on the screen, and you tap one item and then tap another to use items together. I will report more on content either tonight or tomorrow.
Sorry for all the posts, but topics were different so I didn't want to meld them. There's a new hidden object game out: Mystery Manor: Hidden Adventure. Unfortunately it's just for iPad, but it's free.
Not really. There were a ton of bugs back when I played it causing a tremendous amount of frustration. Maybe they redid it?? I'm sure I commented somewhere on here about it.
I don't like the type of HOGs. where they show you the shadow of an item and you must find it. This also has a ton of IAP which also isn't appealing. We need a good adventure game to come out ASAP!! I loved chateau!!!!
Chateau de Moreau? I tried the free version a while back but couldn't get into it. May have to try it again sometime. Don't rule out TinTin coming out soon! I'm definitely getting that one, just need to make room for it (GL games are huge!).
Yeah, the shadow stuff can get annoying, but I was under the impression that it was only one of four types of game play. I also took it that the IAP was completely optional, though I could be wrong. I really need to get back into Chateau one of these days. I'm probably going to have to start over at this point, though I dread having to go through that long, unskippable intro sequence again
Those HOGs make me feel like I'm reading those old Highlight magazines from when I was a kid. Only not as much fun .
Sorry, I know this is the lazy man's way out, but I'm feeling lazy right now. It appears that all of Anuman's HOGs are going on sale today. Here's a link to their company profile on iTunes: Anuman. What's nice is this is one of the few times where I've seen them put their iPad ones on sale for only 99 cents.
I have a bunch of these and have deleted them. The HOGs are difficult to see/find items due to being too small or no zoom. However, Jules Verne I loved but it's not on sale. Oh the original Jules Verne isn't on sale but the moon one is
The Moon isn't a HOG though, but an actual adventure game like Amerzone. I'm considering buying it, but I was so disappointed in how short the first episode of Amerzone was.
Broken Sword 2 is going on sale for a buck! Been holding off on this as I played it on other platforms and couldn't see spending 7 bucks on a game I've already paid for. But for 99 cents I'll buy it. Want to see how it plays on a touchscreen. And looks like the free IDAC app this week is Dying Message the Sequel -- another old one. Oooh and looks like Antrim Escape 3 got a Christmas addition. That's new for them.
Thanks for this heads up App. You are better than Appshopper which hasn't picked up on the fact that Broken Sword 2 has dropped in price. Tis the season to cane the ITunes voucher. Is the Antrim Escape 3 app the same as the original do you think or is it a new episode?
The Antrim Escape Chritmas addition (to the Deluxe version -- they now have two versions :/ ) is a hidden object game. I'm working on it now, and writing a walkthrough at the same time. There are a lot of items, and I started the game over to do it. Not sure if you can play it with a completed game or not. But it's definitely the good kind of hidden object game -- not like the shadow thing Edit: One of the versions is actually free now (trying to download but it's being modified). No idea what the difference is, if any.
Yes, I know the Jules Verne games arents HOGS. The other games ie. Dr. Etc. I have the Jules Verne moon. The first one is good but very short and the 2nd one was buggy so I gave up on it. Again, I got them immediately when they were released so maybe the second one is fixed.
I played Broken Sword on the Playstation. I'm sure the iOS version was similar but had some differences. Looking forward to the second one. Just downloading the Christmassy Antrim but I haven't played the original third one (or the second one) yet so I won't know if it is the same game
