If you buy a $25 gift card, $25 goes into your account. iTunes charges tax for each game. Basically when your $25 runs out, that's it. Isn't it the same in the UK? Or were you talking about an Apple gift card to use in the apple store? OH I see what you are asking. I'm not sure about that but just bought one. I would assume there is tax since they tax games. Look online bc many times places have good sales on iTunes cards.
An itunes voucher. I know last time I was in the US it threw me. Everytime I paid for something in a shop they would add tax to the total. This doesn't happen in UK. Tax is already included in the price that you see. So if I went to a shop and bought a card to use in the US App Store would it just be $25 when I paid for it at the till. Also if an app on the App Store is $1.99, is this the amount that would be taken off the credit you had
The makers of Ellie...Help Me Out...Please have released a new game - Room Escape. There is also Awake - Horror at Point Thatcher which looks very old school
Generally speaking tax is added to everything, but iTunes cards (actually, gift cards in general) are exempt from that. There are a few other things as well, but it's hard to know any more because each year it seems like less and less things are tax free. Even within categories it gets confusing. For example, food is technically tax free, but certain kinds of food aren't really classified as food just so the government can tax them. Nice, huh?
Yes, its the same here, re taxable things and tax free things, but the tax is always included in the price displayed in the UK stores. I was told that we could send all our receipts to IRS??? and they would refund us the tax as we are non residents. Didn't bother as it wasn't a huge amount. In the UK we are not really up on tax(I only know because I'm an accountant) as we don't have to do Tax Returns every year. Thanks, you have answered my question(even though I changed it to avoid confusion)
The purchase of gift cards are tax free as they are seen as cash equivalents and to avoid double taxation. Purchases made with the gift cards are taxed at normal rates, however.
I'm really liking this new game by Ateam. I keep finding new items and clues just when I think I found everything. But most of the clues mean nothing to me right now. Anyone else playing? Oh, and that yellow puzzle nearly drove me mad -- but I solved it!
Closed Room. I downloaded IDAC's game, too, but I'm saving it for when I feel more masochistic . Take a break from it and play Closed Room -- we can escape together!
I found the code for the abcdefg puzzle, but can't figure out how to fix the broken button. Anyone know?
