You’re the man! Hope they’ll be able to fix all the issues that have plagued Appshopper for a while now - Very anxious to be able to reliably search for new (adventure) releases there again! Thanks for taking action instead of just whining about it and hoping it’ll sort itself out like the rest of us (and by "the rest of us" I mainly mean myself )
The list is very, very thorough, OP there did an amazing job. Even for guys like us who’ve played adventures for decades there’s still the odd find we may have overlooked back then at (iOS) release date.
"List of Adventure Games (Part 2) Discussion in 'General Game Discussion and Questions' started by PointOfLight, May 5, 2011" Just realized we‘ve got 7,5 years thread anniversary on Nov 5, 2018. Expecting a big party on Times Square
Hmm, very short notice. Thought you’ve already planned a festival for months now. “7 1/2 years TA PnC Adventure Thread 2.0” Bring your own drinks, chairs and music - Only 20$ per person. And the earned cash goes directly into “PointOfLight’s new iPad fund”
So, I finally wrote Appshopper too now. Can’t believe that if you just use standard search parameters for new, paid games the newest one showing is still 13 week old Pocket City, followed by 15 week old Cramble and 16 week old Escape Lala. Looking forward to their reply. Hope it’s a bit more self-aware than the reply PoL got - With them at least recognizing that they have a huge problem with their search engine which is getting worse every week.
The third episode of Odysseus Kosmos just got released on iOS (about 1 1/2 months after Steam). Thumbs up for the dev: Depite the game not getting the attention it would deserve, he reliably keeps releasing new episodes. Loved the first two, can't wait to dive into this one.
Once again you guys are being quiet, so here's a new one: The Butterfly's Dream. Currently 100% free, though maybe like "The Silent Age" potential future chapters could cost money?
Thank you for sharing this. My 2 cents is that while the art is gorgeous, I strongly dislike any game that makes you blow into the mic or shake the device to progress. It's gimmicky and does not add to the gameplay at all... I hated this on the Nintendo DS and I hate it now on iOS.
Never been in this section before, great list of games... Ok I got one, but its really hard, im being honest... It gets mixed reviews, but if you understand my intentions with the game and the controls and the overall concept of the game, then you may like the challenge.. But feel free to roast me if its no good.. Download--- https://itunes.apple.com/au/app/dream-on-a-journey/id1360691555?mt=8
Haha, I don‘t think anybody will roast you The adventure genre has a bit of a downturn atm again anyway and I think I can speak for most of us that new suggestions are always welcome
Future release but this game looks so rad, I can‘t remember looking that forward to an adventure game for a long time: Gibbous - A Cthulhu Adventure Keep in mind that it‘s not released yet. It would‘ve been on PC and Mac already but unfortunately a major voice actor had a terrible accident and as a consequence the release got pushed back to Q1 2019. After that they plan to make mobile ports. Mainly wanted to raise a bit of awareness for this game, it just looks so amazing and there‘s even an older demo for PC/Mac/Linux on the Kickstarter page. Can‘t wait for this, especially the mobile port, even if it‘ll still take a while. This game looks pretty great too. Finally got a release date (30th Jan 2019). They reached the goals for iOS and Android ports too back in the day - Hope they get released the same day as PC/Mac or if not, at least soon thereafter.
Unfortunately, your link leads to a different game, something called "Driving Skillz", by Adam Rogan. I wonder if your link only works in the USA? I live in Canada. I can find your game on the AppStore, though, by searching manually.
It looks like Fire Maple Games new release Thickety Creek is now available! Thickety Creek by Fire Maple Games, LLC https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/thickety-creek/id1320364842?mt=8
I came across this game, it seems to be a completely free room escape game. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/escape-game-2018/id1329358948?mt=8 The developer seems to be Japanese and they have several other escape games as well... https://itunes.apple.com/us/developer/ryohei-narita/id826300169
That one will be an Instant Buy. Fire Maple Games just happen to be one of my favourite developers, and seeing a new game from them is a rare treat.
So did anyone else stop getting notifications about new posts? I was so excited to rush over here as soon as I found out about the new Fire Maple Games offering, only to find out that I've missed several days worth of conversations! Good to see a couple of new folks, though.
New game, 'The Treasure' has pretty good reviews https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/the-treasure-escape-game/id1446420952?mt=8 Developer has other escape games on his profile as well
