I'm not a huge fan of the whole "visual novel" type game, usually because they don't feel much like games to me (and yeah, I don't know how that's different than a "choose your own adventure" style book, but for me it is), but since this one is from Tin Man Games I thought I'd point it out anyway: Miss Fisher and the Deadly Maze - Ep. 1
New Artifex Mundi game: Faces of Illusion: The Twin Phantoms (Full) (I actually think the IAP version came out a while back, but I never posted it here).
I so can't wait for Thimbleweed Park. It's going to have voice acting, I assume? Haven't heard whether it was or not.
I'm a couple of hours into this one right now, and it's delightful! Shades of Monkey Island and wacky piratical things but it's very much its own game. I'm slightly stuck on a puzzle now (in that I think I know what to do but I can't work out how the game wants me to do it) but that's the first time I've had problems -- everything else has been pitched perfectly. Excellent voice acting, too. Highly recommend checking this one out.
The most recent Kickstarter update says English voice, and subtitles in English, German, French, Spanish, and Italian, with Russian to follow.
Sadly, I really haven't been doing much adventure gaming lately. I did start playing Primordia which was pretty interesting, but I'm not sure I'd label it a "must play" yet. I've actually been spending most of my gaming time the past few days on a match 3 game (for lack of better categorization) called Water Heroes.
http://www.adventuregamers.com/articles/view/32100 Thimbleweed Park sounds utterly fantastic. CANNOT WAIT!
Not really sure I'd call this an adventure game, but I've been playing it recently and it's lots of fun (and right now it's free): Love You To Bits
Downloaded this yesterday and loving it, albeit the slow movement of main character is testing my patience#
I guess I didn't notice that. But then I'm still running an iPad 2, so it probably felt like normal speed to me
I like playing adventure games, and found a great compilation of top 20 adventure games, wanna share it with you all too https://iosappers.com/tutorial/top-paid-ios-adventure-games/
Thanks for the list. I think it uses the term "adventure game" a bit liberally, though. For instance, I would not consider Stoneship or Tiny Wings adventure games.
Alawar Entertainment is having a sale that ends today (sorry I didn't post sooner). Several of their adventure games are on sale: Alawar on iTunes.
Just downloading Water Heroes - Premium Match 3 sounds great. Thanks for mentioning PoL, the App Store description/screenshots look interesting. Can't believe I'd forgotten about this thread for a few months. New Wadjet Eye Point'n'Click (Creators of the Blackwell Series, Gemini Rue, Primordia etc.), old school Pixel Style as usual with this dev/publisher: Shardlight - If you liked the other Wadjet Eye Games, there's a good chance you'll enjoy this one too.
