Lone Wolf has released The Enchanted Books by Lone Wolf Games, LLC https://appsto.re/au/RtXHab.i The same sort of smooth style of gameplay akin FMG and Glitch. Enjoying so far
Some recent games: Angels Of Deception: Part I The Enchanted Books City Quest - A Point And Click Adventure Blackwell 5: Epiphany
City Quest is pretty good. Great sense of humor and it offers multiple branching storylines to play through.
NightCry, from the creators of Clock Tower, is hitting PC/Mac, and iOS shortly. PC/Mac next week and iOS thereafter. I'm looking forward to it.
It's been kind of quiet around here lately. I just finished up Forgotten Places: Regained Castle this weekend, and I really enjoyed it. The story's not all that original, but the object puzzles are decent and the hidden object scenes don't get in the way too much. I haven't checked out the additional content yet, but it's worth it for the base game alone. Plus, it's on sale for $1.99 right now. Also, I see that BFG released Maze: Subject 360 HD today. I haven't played the iOS version, but I really enjoyed the PC version. I have a lot of BFG games on the PC, and I don't get through too many of them, but I actually played Subject 360 all the way through.
Wow, I can't believe it's been over a month since I've posted anything. Anyway, just finished a game called Deadly Puzzles: Toymaker HD. Fair warning: this is mostly hidden object scenes and a few mini-games with no object based puzzles, so some of you will want to stay away Despite the lack of object puzzles I found it rather entertaining. If you like shows like Criminal Minds it has that kind of story to it. The graphics are pretty decent and the music and voiceovers are good. It's published by Artifex Mundi, who also had a hand in some of the better G5 games like the Nightmares from the Deep series and Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden. So if you haven't already given it a shot and you like hidden object games, check it out. There is a freemium version as well: Deadly Puzzles: Toymaker HD - Hidden Object Game.

Mystery of Shadow Hill is currently free. Hope you all come back soon. It's kind of lonely around here
Welcome back, PointofLight, and it's good to see that this thread has been reborn. I guess that everyone has been "missing in action."
Thanks. "Reborn" might be a bit strong yet at this point, but hopefully things will start to pick up here again. This is about the only thread I visit with any regularity on this site any more, so I'd hate to see it fade away. G5 actually released a couple of games recently: Where Angels Cry: Tears of the Fallen Where Angels Cry: Tears of the Fallen HD Deep Town: The Twin Candles Deep Town: The Twin Candles HD The latest Lifeline installment is also available: Lifeline: Whiteout The Lifeline series is compatible with the Apple Watch if you happen to have one of those.
Hey everyone! We just posted our official Return to Grisly Manor trailer! https://youtu.be/_cXq6iO2cPM We are putting the finishing touches on the game right now, and are hoping to submit it within the next three or four weeks. Hope everyone is doing ok! Sorry it has been so long. Our 3 year-old boy takes up most of my forum time Warm regards, Joe
Super news. We've all been sooooooo quiet here as we all wait patiently for new games. My iPads been fairly quiet on the game front for a while. Looking forward to going back to Grisly. Thanks ever so
I miss gaming more. Adventure is one of my favorite genres. Just finished Lifeline, that's very good.
Were you able to play Lifeline on an Apple Watch? I've played all of them so far, and while I like the writing on the outer space ones (didn't care for the mystical one at all), I find that there doesn't seem to be a lot to do. Or, to put it more appropriately, your actions don't seem to ultimately matter. I don't know that playing it on the watch would make a difference, but at least it would seem more reasonable that there's less interaction.
No, I've played on iPhone and I doubt that playing on Apple Watch would do much more to make a difference. In fact, as usual on interactive fiction (with exceptions), I think our choices are rather limited on overall impact. However, I love the illusion of choice.
I don't agree with that at all. You might only get a couple of choices at a time, but in most well written IF you get plenty of choices throughout the course of the game, and many of them have less than desirable consequences. Look at the collection from Tin Man Games, for example. There are plenty of ways to die in those adventures I think what hurts the Lifeline games is the lack of inventory, or even the perception thereof. You could technically still have an "inventory" even if you couldn't access it, but the way the Lifeline games progress you never really feel like anything you interact with truly makes a difference. And maybe I've just been extremely lucky, but I've never gone down a path in any of those games where I've died or the adventure was over abruptly for some other reason. I'd probably have given up on the Lifeline series by now, but for the most part I really like the writing.
When I am talking about choice it is not something as "path a lives" and "path b dies" or you have to have item x or you die. It is about choices changing the way that the story unfolds. And it doesn't count if the branches eventually merge or if it only affect the ending. From what I've read you can die on Lifeline 1. Also, I didn't get the "perfect" ending.
