Spoiler It's like one of those peg jumping games if you've ever played them. You just tap a peg and then tap an empty hole on the board. You have to jump another peg, and you can only go across or up and down, not diagonal. I hope that makes sense.
Wow, it has been a while, hasn't it? Ironically, the last hidden object game I really got into was a BFG on my PC! I spent about 3 hours playing the Gabriel Knight anniversary edition, and it didn't really start to appeal to me until the end of that three hours, at which point my Testflight build expired. I also tried Lifeline 2, but I didn't find it nearly as compelling as the first one, and honestly I think those games are better suited for the Apple Watch due to their extremely limited interactivity. I do have a few recent games I need to play, but I don't want to say anything about them until I've actually tried them. Overall, though, I think the adventure game selections have been relatively slim lately, aside from the weekly BFG releases. Tin Man Games did release a couple of new Gamebook adventures last week, and they do have one coming out tomorrow based on Warhammer 40K, but again I haven't played any of those yet.
One game that was supposed to be released on iOS some time back was "Lost Horizon", a very enjoyable point and click (not hidden object) adventure game that I played a few years ago on the PC. The planned release date of July 24th has come and gone, and there was even a TA article a few weeks before the planned release of the game. However, there has since been no sign that a release will take place anytime soon. (The sequel to this game was just released on the PC to somewhat lukewarm reviews.)
Sorry, I was being lazy last night. Here are some links: Legacy of Dorn: Herald of Oblivion Gamebook Adventures 12: Asuria Awakens Gamebook Adventures 11: Songs of the Mystics Lifeline 2 There's also this game: Fire: Ungh's Quest. I didn't realize that it had actually come out because I was looking for it under another publisher. Anyway, I've been playing it off and on for a while now, and I've really been enjoying it. I may be just a bit slow when it comes to these games, but I have had to look up a bit of help on just about every level so far, but it's been worth it. The game is definitely unique among the adventure game offerings out there.
That's a bummer. But on the plus side, all you would need is an iPad 2 Sorry, I just get excited when games still run on my entirely outdated machine.
Couple of sales: Syberia (FULL) - personally I liked the second one better, but for $1.99 you'll most likely get your money's worth if you like third person style adventure games. Edna & Harvey: The Breakout - Another third person perspective game. I really enjoyed this one for as much as I played it. You'll definitely get you money out of this one. According to iTunes the game is more than 20 hours, and while I can't confirm that I easily played it for 3 to 4 hours before I finally moved on. If you have the time and space it's worth the effort.
I've played some Adventure games which is : 1. Lost 2. Plan Z 3. Hidden Scenes Mystery Mansion Plan Z screenshot & download link
I'm just wondering if any of you have played or heard of my game - The Adventures of Bertram Fiddle? We released it on iOS last year and did ok, but I think we've not managed to promote it as well as we could have. It's a comedy Adventure game with an inventory system. Website I'd really appreciate any feedback if anyone has seen it before! Thank you, Seb
I have it, but unfortunately have not had the chance to play it yet. However, in case anyone else is interested, here's the link: Bertram Fiddle: Episode 1: A Dreadly Business
Agent A I enjoyed Agent A: A puzzle in disguise. Big points for style and theme. The puzzles are all quite standard but I appreciate the classic first-person point-and-click. I was sucked in and didn't put it down until the end. My primary complaint is the lack of challenge. I'm no genius but this was dreadfully short - I think I finished it in less than 75 minutes. You're not going to lose any sleep over these puzzles.
I completely agree. There wasn't really anything that stood out as a real challenge, yet there was enough there to feel like a fully fleshed out game. Besides, the atmosphere is great and it looks awesome.
