Just finished Escape Alcatraz - Devious Escape Puzzler... Highly recommend with a little twist on the average escape/point and click game!!
RE: List Of Adventure Games (Part 2) Great list ! Thanks for sharing I have found a site.. it is very useful you guys can find adventure games easily and download games apk for android.
This one's not bad. Been working on a walkthrough: http://www.appunwrapper.com/2015/09/09/escape-alcatraz-devious-escape-puzzler-walkthrough-guide/
Great heads-up! I was interested in these, but haven't finished so many others. At least I'll know if this series is something I can get into by playing this first one.
Has anyone here played the Blackwell series yet? I tried the first one and really couldn't get into it.
I always avoided it bc I'm not a big pixel art fan. But I started last night and was really enjoying it. Gonna try to finish the first while the others are on sale so I can see if I want to buy them.
I'm just the opposite - one of my big attractions to the game was the pixel art, but I honestly found the game kind of boring. Since I have all of them, though, I guess I'll need to give it a chance again.
Haven't tried that series but couldn't get into The Last Door, another pixel art adventure game. I guess graphics are still somewhat important because the style was part of the reason I didn't enjoy it.
I think it's been mentioned here already, but if you haven't tried it yet, you really should give Escape Alcatraz - Devious Escape Puzzler a try. I'm not a huge fan of escape games, so I started it with the intention of playing for a couple of minutes and then deleting it. Now I'm hooked! The puzzles are innovative and actually make using of features like swiping and tilting the device. Granted you probably won't be too happy with it if you don't like some exercises in dexterity during your adventure games, but I've actually managed to look past that pet peeve for this game. Part way through you do have to unlock the rest of the game, but you can do one of those "complete these offers" things to get the rest of the game. All I did was download and open another free game. Granted at first it seemed like it didn't work, but I was all set to just buy the second half anyway. Fortunately this last time I opened up the game it registered the fact that I completed my offer, so I'm now on my way to actually escaping the prison Definitely worth a look-see, especially if you do like escape games.
Here's an interesting looking game: Black Island. The download is free, and apparently right now chapters 2 & 3 are free as well, though I can't figure out how to get them. When I launched the app there was no option to purchase IAP, so it might be something where you can't get the extra chapters until you make your way to them in the game itself. The free offer is available until the 15th according to a press release I got, so hurry in and get a new game! There are only two customer reviews and they are wildly different, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the 5 star one is the right one
Thanks for the heads up, and I just downloaded the game. It doesn't look too bad, and even has spoken dialogue. The first chapter is extremely short, though, and only took about 10 minutes to complete. The second chapter was unlocked once I completed the first one, and hopefully, both chapters 2 and 3 will be longer.
As a further update to my earlier post about the game Black Island, the overall game is very short, and I think that I am near the end of chapter 3. My best estimate of each chapter's length is about 10 minutes or less. However, there is a nasty arcade sequence that I am stuck on right now. In my opinion, arcade sequences do NOT belong in adventure games, especially if they are nearly impossible to complete. Either this sequence should be slowed down, or a skip option be made available. The game shows promise if it were longer, and if something could be done about the arcade sequence. I really cannot complain, since the game is free.
So I decided to give Black Island a try. Figured I should probably check out some of the games I post here, and since this one is completely free right now I didn't have much of an excuse. It's actually a pretty decent game. It's definitely short - about 30 minutes from start to finish. The story is actually interesting, and I like the way that it's told in flashbacks via FMV. That's one slick way of using video without it feeling like it's disrupting the game play. The puzzles are decent, and there are only a couple of mini-games. Sadly, one of them felt pretty buggy to me, but it was still easily passable. the other one, the "arcade sequence" David1953 mentioned, is fairly benign. I was almost expecting something that would make me throw my device across the room, but once you figure out that you've actually entered the arcade sequence it's relatively easy to beat. I do agree with David that arcade sequences really don't belong in adventure games, but if the author really does feel that they are necessary I wish they'd all be this basic. If I had to compare this to the trove of games we've discussed in the past, I'd say these guys were proteges of Glitch Games. They seem to have a similar knack for storytelling, but I'm not quite sure they are there yet in terms of overall game design. Still, it's worth taking the time to play if you have a few minutes for download and half an hour of game time to spare.
Can you help me on the "peg solitaire" puzzle please? I'm unsure just what I'm supposed to do here. It's not a bad game overall.
