Some newer games: True Heroes 1781 The Necromancy Doors&Rooms 3 TV Trap: Escape From The Virtual Reality Untold: The Secret of the Tower Cave Of Pirates Escape Game
New game: The Lost Treasure Island 3D - Escape Adventure Puzzle Game. I actually did an interview with the developers about this one, but sadly I can't post it because TA actually blocks out URLs from the website I write reviews for. I think the game is going to be pretty cool. Sadly I can't really play it, because the minimum requirements are an iPhone 5s / iPad Air, so my dilapidated iPad 2 doesn't cut it. The developers were nice enough to make a build that would launch on my iPad 2, but it's barely playable. From what little I've seen it looks cool, though
Please do. I'd really like to know how it plays It's killing me that I have the game and can't actually explore it more. I'm actually impressed that the developers were willing to make me an unlocked version that I could run on my device, knowing that even though they warned me it wouldn't run well I could still write a bad review of it. Of course I'm not going to do that, so I just have to bide my time until I get a modern device.
Ick ick ick. I got stung by a bee and it offered me a heal for a coin. I refused and it set me back a bit. I don't know that I have patience for this.
Totally agree App. I got stung by the same bee and now have fallen and sustained lots of damage. Can see this one falling by the wayside
Imagine that when it takes you five minutes to get there in the first place I got stung by that bee a couple of times, but I found that if you use the jump points you never go near it. Of course it makes it hard to get the coin the bee is watching, but I figured it wasn't worth the pain! I hope you do stick it out for a while, though, because I'll probably need your walkthrough when I get a device I can play it on
Death wouldn't be so bad if it didn't make me keep replaying the same stupid stuff over and over. I opened that damn bottle three times already. Life's too short for this. Also, the loading times on my Air 2 were surprisingly long and the game hiccuped a bit when I was in the water.
Btw, I followed the glowing lights like you said and the jaguar attacked me. So what's the point of those exactly? This is my fourth time restarting. Also, the controls are just abysmal. Glad this didn't cost me more than $1.
I also gave this game a shot, and didn't care for it at all. It's partly for the reasons AppUnwrapper mentions: poor controls and poor performance on a latest generation device. But I didn't find the storyline compelling either, and really disliked the game mechanics. Oh well, it would be boring if we all liked the same things I guess.
This is all quite disturbing to hear. I was really hoping the sluggishness and poor controls were simply because of my aging device. As for the jaguar, that's a bit surprising. I walked by it several times and never once got attacked. In fact I must admit that I was rather surprised by that, because I assumed that's why the jaguar was there in the first place.
having fun on the beach just avoid the bee. who cares about the coin, it is just a trap. the first beach is just a proving ground. who would approach anything that is surrounding by an angry looking hornet? if you have your sound on, you will clearly hear the jaguar stalking you. if you stick to the waypoints, you will avoid him most of the time. She is smart, sometimes she will follow you. the game is A.I. built, it is not linear. also, open world on mobile is really tough. Once you get past the first 1/4 of the game, it is actually easier in most respects. we have changes coming for the beach, including faster movement and cut scenes. making it easier. Some of the newbie game players wanted slower gameplay because it was confusing to them. In any event, if you have feedback, just post here, or send it to [email protected] we are totally indie and looking to provide entertainment, not IAP trash. i don't know if you guys are aware, but this story is actually about the worlds oldest and most famous lost treasure. everything in the adventure is actually based on
Hello Everyone. We've made changes to "The Lost Treasure Island" based on feedback and an update should be available tomorrow, if not sooner. (V2.3) On the playability and control issues, I'll try a reduction in resolution test to see if that helps. This game really pushes the GPU. Thank you sincerely for trying the game! We are not a large megacorp here, but we're working hard to make it the best we can. Added a large skip button for the Intro. Added gold coins that the player can find on the beach & scattered them everywhere in the adventure. Added a graceful telescope exit. It was cut off the screen for some devices. Fixed the stones for the Arcadia number puzzle, they were stuck & needed oil. (You can hear them move if your volume is turned on.) Improved/simplified the ancient treasure chest interaction. Increased the overall game speed (cut scene animation speed & player movement). Improved interaction with some amazing creatures (peacocks, wolves & the red fox). Modified the serious injury notification, so the player can restart right away. Reduced the damage of the angry giant hornet bee & the dark scary bats. Coins are used to open hints or do a quick restart. There are enough coins in the game for a normal person to complete the entire adventure without running out of coins, as long as they look for them once in a while. We have one IAP - 150 gold coins- for those who are challenged and are determined to finish the game by opening every hint. Thanks again! Oh, and you don't necessarily have to do everything again if you replay a section. Message in the bottle, for example.
On a completely different note, has anyone played Missing: An Interactive Thriller? I played it over the weekend, and then again a couple of days ago to finish up my review. It's an older game (November of last year), but I don't recall anyone posting here about it. Of course I was too lazy to actually look Anyway, I really liked it. Sadly the game is pretty short, which should be obvious by the fact that I mentioned I actually played it twice. However, it's a pretty decent example of what can be done with FMV. I grew up when FMV v1.0 came into being, and while the concept was intriguing, few games made it work to any degree aside from Dragon's Lair, and to be honest I never really thought of that as an FMV game. Anyway, I would recommend keeping this one in your sights, though given the short play time you might want to wait until it drops to 99 cents. I did talk to the developer and they are working on a sequel, so maybe once that's finally out the first one will drop in price.
real things. send your email to [email protected] to be included on the AAA beta team, with a witty remark .'. they might include you
Weird... I heard the name mentioned but for some reason thought it was only for PC. Didn't think to check the App Store. I loved Her Story and Contradiction, so I'm definitely open to another good FMV. Thanks for the head's up! Edit: OMG someone recommended this to me a while back and I forgot all about it. Definitely gonna play it now.
I'll give it another shot. Thanks for the advice! Also, can I ask why you used a D-pad instead of a joystick? It's a huge part of the frustration.
I checked out their web site at one point and I believe the game was originally made for the PC. It played pretty nice on my iPad 2, though.
