So has anyone taken advantage of the new bundles that you can get with iOS 8? Here's an interesting one: Spooky Hidden Object Adventure Games for iPad by Big Fish. Of course the description says 10 games though only nine are listed, so I don't know if they forgot to add one or just haven't proofread their iTunes description yet. What I think is kind of cool is that if you own any of the games in the bundle, it will reduce the price of the bundle by those games and not charge you for them again. The down side is that if you bought any of them via IAP it doesn't count (for instance, I bought the full version of Gravely Silent via IAP so I'd have to buy it again). I still applaud their attempts with the bundle concept, though, and think it could be really cool once they get it all ironed out. And of course it will be even nicer when they allow promo codes to be generated for bundles, because right now developers still have to generate codes for each individual game within the bundle.
The bundles are weird at the moment. If you got an app for free or on sale, it affects the price. So to complete some bundles, it would cost me more than just buying the apps separately. They really need to iron out the kinks. It's a cool idea, and could be better for devs than dropping the price of each individual app at different times.
Have you played it? I had mixed feelings about the first chapter (mostly the controls bothered me), and I don't currently have the space for it. :/ Oh, it's only Episode 1 right now (just read the fine print).
Come on people, I need some new games. I feel like there has been an ongoing plateau of junk.Helevator had potential but the fact that it doesnt save your progress, causing you to start all over every time you return, is a major flaw. A flaw so big it caused me to say "goodbye". Eric & app if you find anything, please let me know
I'm currently playing Lost Civilization and really enjoying it. I know this is a bit of an older one, but it seems like except for BFG things have been slowing down a lot lately, at least in the first person adventure / HoG category. For anyone that likes CYOA games Tin Man Games just released The Sagas of Fire*Wolf and inkle (the folks behind Sorcery and 80 Days) released Down Among the Dead Men. Oh yeah, G5 just put out Nightmares from the Deep: Davey Jones, Collector's Edition HD (there's also an iPhone version). Hope that gives you something to do for a little while.
The Lost Diamonds is on sale for a few more hours 0.99c, I know some people got frustrated with the original version, however we have implemented 3 months worth of suggestions into the latest version, to make it more playable/fun and not so difficult.
Hadn't heard of Lost Civilization. The screenshots looks great, but the few reviews in the App Store all complain aboht crashing. Have you been having any issues?
Couple of recent games: Order of the Light: The Deathly Artisan HD Time To Escape Hollywood Escape U-Boat Bunker St Amiot
Only that it's being worked on, and it's going to be awesome We hope to add some more screenshots to the TA thread soon, just not sure when though.
Couple of new-ish games: Adventure of Red Ridding Hood HD PuppetShow: Destiny Undone HD Developers with several HoGs (disclaimer: haven't tried any of them yet): Huina Yu Danlei Su Sandip Raghuvanshi Currently free: Escape The Hellevator!
For those who were waiting for Episode Two of the Silent Age, it's now out. Here's my review: http://www.appunwrapper.com/2014/10/16/the-silent-age-episode-two-review/
Hey, I was just getting ready to post that Okay, not really, but as soon as I saw the email about a new post to this thread I thought "hey, I should post something about Silent Age 2". Guess I don't need to now! I'm excited to try it, but since it's a paid chapter anyway I wish they would have just released it as a separate download instead of IAP. Do you know if you have to play through episode 1 to get to 2? Probably wouldn't hurt just to refresh my memory, but I'd rather not if I didn't have to.
I had episode 1 completely unlocked when I updated, so not 100% sure about this. But when you start up the app, it looks like this: I assume you would see that whether you played ep1 recently or a long time ago, but I could be wrong.
You can still download the app itself for free. So if you see those choices when you open it, I highly doubt it would make you play episode 1 after taking your money for episode 2.
