Melissa K was great. Great artwork, puzzles and sounds too. I've finally upgraded to ipad, so what are some great (pad only) adventure games I may have missed out on? Tokyo Mysteries is quite good but the puzzles are a bit tricky sometimes. I've yet to complete it as I've been stuck at the same part for ages.
Cognition Episode 1 is a cool game, though at least part 1 was a bit buggy. Worth it if you can deal with the bugs (I haven't finished it, but I don't think they prevent you from completing the game). Not a very useful list at this point, but to be honest I very rarely pay attention to whether something is iPad only or not. I usually don't notice until I post a link here and someone points it out to me!
Here are a couple: A Midnight Escape Criminal Case Appointment with F.E.A.R. I'm not really sure how much of an adventure game Criminal Case is because the "screen shots" are more for advertising than actually demonstrating game play, but the game is free to download. Appointment with F.E.A.R. is a gamebook, but the presentation is very different than the others that Tin Man Games has published.
Mysteries of the Mind: Coma HD: A Hidden Object Game with Hidden Objects... because apparently some hidden object games don't actually have hidden objects (By the way, I didn't add the last part to the name to be funny. That's how it is listed in iTunes.)
And if you're tired of BFG: Dream Hills - Captured Magic: A Hidden Object Seek and Find Game for iPad. This one is only $2.99 for the full game.
I'm pleased you cleared that up. Spooky! As I was just thinking that very day you posted this about hidden object games with hidden objects and if the hidden objects in games were actually hidden or if they were just hidden object game bits, not hidden but just objects...hidden or not... Phew.
Appreciate posting the game and decided to purchase it. A quick summary (and AppStore review) in case interested: First scene was rather dark and items were fuzzy so initially turned off but continuing on the next scenes are much brighter. No zoom and some objects rather small in certain areas and also some parts need to be tapped around to find inventory objects for later use. Overall its still a rather nice game with somewhat challenging puzzles with some hidden objects thrown in along with a quick replenishing hint button (beginner mode). Nice transporting map and good task menu too. For $3 its worth the play.
I'm so desperate for a new game!! I'm about to look for a big fish game I haven't played yet....this will be a challenge
Hey everyone, we completely forgot to post here to say that the first screenshots of Forever Lost: Episode 3 have been released - http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=242467 -
Have you checked out Steampunker yet? How could you keep us hanging? Looks great, by the way. As usual can't wait for this one!
No mention of Escape the Hellevator? It's one of my new favorites. Here's my full review if you're in the fence: http://www.appunwrapper.com/2014/09/22/escape-the-hellevator-review/ I personally hope it's successful, because I want to see more from this developer.
Installed it but haven't tried it yet. They just updated with some new graphics, so I think I'll try and check it out over the weekend. Hadn't heard of this one which is why I didn't mention it Actually looks pretty interesting.
Secret Files Tunguska is currently on sale for $2.99. If you haven't played it yet, I definitely recommend it. Probably one of the best Sierra style adventure games I've played on my iPad to date. Here's a link to my review for more details: Secret Files Tunguska Review.
Thanks for the pointer! I gave it a shot, and thoroughly enjoyed its dark humor. Certainly, the title's cheesy, but that sort of fits nicely within the spirit of the game. It might not be quite up to Journey Down's standards, but that's a tall order. At a paltry $1.99/£1.49, it's a delightfully macabre way to spend a few hours poisoning your grandmother, burning down the house, or embezzling millions. (And yes, I'd agree with your review's note about rotating objects not feeling quite right - I'd likewise have preferred either switching the directions, or providing an option to do so, but it didn't really get in the way)
