FREE pre-release promo codes for Mount Olympus Hey guys, Although our game, Mount Olympus, won't be available to the public until midnight tonight, we just got word from AppUnWrapper that they've published our first review for Mount Olympus. Here's a link: http://www.appunwrapper.com/2014/03/20/mount-olympus-another-quality-point-and-click-game-from-icoolgeeks/ In addition to the review, they're also giving away FREE pre-release promo codes if you're interested, plus they're working on full walk-through tutorials for the game, which can be found via links in the above review. In case you don't know me, I'm the guy who brought you Tesla's Electric Mist last year. Thanks guys.
@evilnapkin @HarryWarden - thanks guys. I've got a good feeling about this release. I'm already getting quite a bit more interest from several review sites than any of my previous games. I guess it doesn't hurt to have a cool game like Tesla under my belt.
I played through the first one but it didn't leave me wanting more of the franchise. Doesn't compare to the Broken Sword series for involvement and enjoyment. The fact that the game crashed multiple times on my iPad Air didn't help. The crashes would usually require rewatching long cinematic sequences sometimes multiple times.
I can second that. I played through Broken Sword almost thrice, as well as sequels. I had not completed a single Runaway game...
I did play through all the Runaway games, and I agree that they cannot compare to the Broken Sword games. However, the Runaway games are not all that bad, and are true point and click adventures, with a good length and a bucketload of puzzle situations to work through. The biggest issue is that some of the puzzle solutions can be obscure, and a walkthrough is probably needed by most people to complete the game. Also, some of the cutscenes can go on for too long, especially the end of chapter cutscenes.
I love the Broken Sword games. I bought the first one for my PC way back when and had the second on my Gameboy Advance. I still enjoyed playing them both on my iPhone. And I was looking forward to the 5th one. But I have a bit of a pet peeve -- I don't mind episodic games, as long as they're very clear that they're episodic, and would even prefer each episode as a separate app IF they plan to charge separately for each episode. If the full game is going to be contained inside the same app, just make the app one price (if higher, so be it).
Hey guys, if you don't already have your copy, don't forget that Mount Olympus is out today. Also, in celebration of the release Tesla's Electric Mist is free for 48 hours. Grab them both and have a double helping of adventure goodness.
Thanks for the heads up, PointOfLight, and I will download right now. I had overlooked this one being released today, since it us unusual to see games released on a Saturday.
@PointOfLight - Thanks for the shout out Eric. Check this out. Our game, Tesla's Electric Mist did really well yesterday. Between yesterday and today we've been #1 Top Overall in at least 4 countries. We were also in the top 10 Overall in more than 19 countries, plus #1 puzzle or adventure game in 25 countries, and in the top 10 of puzzle or adventure in over 40 countries. (I'm sure this was due to the Free promotion going on). Still it's pretty cool to see it climbing the charts. That's a pic from the German app store's home page, showing Tesla's Electric Mist as the #1 app. Awesome!
I haven't tried this one yet, but the premise sounds kind of cool: Emotional Escape Also, does Quest in Peace look familiar to anyone? Again I haven't tried it yet, but based on the description and screen shots I'm positive I've played it before under a different name. I don't want to think that's the case because it's not like Herocraft to do that, but it just seems awfully familiar.
Of all devs I have my favourites and of ate the games I've loved have been from FMG, The Lost City an Mosaika. Tesla's " also falls into this category. I've already completed. Actually it didn't take a great deal of effort. Mount Olympus seemed very rushed and short. Was it meant to be a small short game? I'm just curious as Tesla was extremely engaging. Has anyone else played/completed it yet?
I'm playing on iPhone and wouldn't recommend it. It's another game that requires a bigger screen. Is be keen to know if it's more playable on the iPad?
I just spent the last of my balance on Mystery on Telescope Hill which is on sale for 99 cents, but maybe once I reload my account I'll give this one a try.
I downloaded that as well, PointOfLight. It doesn't look too bad so far, and hopefully, it will turn out to be a decent length. I am still playing Mount Olympus. One thing I do notice is that the graphics appear a bit blurry or low res on my iPad Air, and do not appear optimized for retina displays. The gameplay doesn't seem bad though, but I am disappointed to hear from podbud that the game turned out to be as short as it was.
