I never like to speak for people out of turn, but I think this game is intended more to attract people to the Forever Lost games then to make money in and of itself.
In case anyone is interested (and you probably should be), The Room Two is currently on sale for 99 cents.
Haha, the support is awesome but seriously if anyone is stuck we're not going to withhold clues via email, that being said we still try to be fairly cryptic when providing clues that way so I can't guarantee it'll actually help anyone Yea that's correct, it's basically a fully re-written version of what we used for FL 1 & 2, so far we've used it for Ferris and Cabin to pretty good results. It will allow us to develop quicker whilst also reducing the change of bugs. We hope to release it eventually but just not sure how or when yet. Yea that is correct, we figure there will be 2 different types of people that play it. The first being people who have already played the FL games, for them we hope to provide a short little game to tide them over until ep3 comes out whilst also providing a little extra glimpse into the story and characters. Basically a free gift to those of you who have already supported us. Then the second set of players will be people who have never played, or even heard of, FL. For those we hope to provide a free taster into the world that will hopefully intrigue them enough to go play the full series yet still be an enjoyable game on its own. We'll see pretty soon if this will be successful
That's awesome! If you decide to pursue this and want to see how someone "on the outside" handles it, I'd be happy to work with it. Just let me know.
That would be great yea, we're still trying to get it to a state that can be played with, i.e. documentation and stuff, but with only 2 of us, and only 1 being a coder, it takes time. Which is time away from making games.
Horn is currently on sale. That's more of an RPG than adventure, right? I do like some RPGs as I have fond memories of playing through Final Fantasy 7 with some friends on PlayStation.
Horn is kind of like Zelda with Infinity Blade style combat. You can upgrade equipment and stuff, but if I recall correctly there is not much in the way of RPG elements like increasing stats or anything like that. Then again, it has been a while since I played the game. It was pretty cool, though.
Are you talking about this one: The Descent? If so, that's on my long list of "have it but haven't played it yet". I actually have several of that guy's adventure games and haven't played a single one of them so far. I need to stop getting games... So now I'm going to hijack this response to point out that in case anyone missed it / doesn't have it, Sea Legends: Phantasmal Light Collector's Edition HD (Full) from BFG is free at the moment (so is the iPhone version).
Looks interesting. Unfortunately since it appears to be their first iOS game there's nothing to speculate against for the quality. Always nervous buying a "premium" priced game from a new developer.
A friend just showed this to me. Real life room escape games: https://www-151f.bookeo.com/bookeo/b_3151C6JYJE143D55EE21F_start.html?inwidget=false&a=3151C6JYJE143D55EE21F I think I need to do this.
