Actually, in my experience, BFG sales tend to happen at odd times, and there is no guarantee that one will happen this weekend, but they could surprise us and have one several weeks after the holiday weekend instead. I do have fond memories of a Christmas sale they had a couple of years ago, when most or all their games, including iPad collector's editions, were offered for 99 cents, and I loaded up then. More recent sales have been less significant, with regular iPad editions reduced to $2.99, and collector's editions reduced to $4.99.
Even if they did have a sale I think I'd have to refrain. I have so many games to play right now that it would easily be a couple of years out before I could get to them
Other than the really must have's if ever a sale I'm good for a long while as well and I really don't mind buying a game full price once in awhile, actually it feels better at grabbing the ones on sale if I do.

It appears that Big Fish is having a sale after all, but the reductions are relatively minor, at $1 off regular iPad editions, and $2 off collector's editions. I will pass.
Yeah, that's a bummer, because I was actually thinking about getting that one. After all, how could Sherlock Holmes and mummies be bad?
G5 is having a sale on their games. I've picked up a few because many are discounted at $1.99 with the usual price being around $6.99. I just couldn't resist getting those I've had wish listed for awhile now.
So strange bc Apple now switches you to the Canadian App Store but unless you have an account, you can't purchase.
Could be an interesting Hidden Objects game out tonight from Chillingo, of all places. Please see the following TA forum for information on Rooms of Mystery: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=202549
I'm certainly intrigued. Chillingo has been churning out some pretty good games lately (though I can't speak for Max Steel which I haven't tried yet). Besides, for free it's worth giving a shot.
Unfortunately, I was wrong and it is not worth it. It is F2P and there are timers and energy levels all, over the game.
That's what I have heard elsewhere as well. What a bummer. I actually stuck with a game that used a similar topology for quite some time, but it finally got to the point where I couldn't play it at all without IAP so I gave up. From the sounds of this one you can't get very far at all before that happens. The thing that bugs me is I'd be willing to pay even upwards of $10 given that you basically get an unlimited hidden object experience, but the fact that in the long run games like this would cost me between $50 and $100 after buying enough IAP to play it comfortably is ludicrous. I hope companies like BFG and G5 don't turn to this model eventually for all of their projects.
I think they may add portions into what they do in the future, but I doubt they will go all the way to F2P (I hope ) Chillingo has lost a lot since migrating mostly to F2P.
