I actually played Siberia on a couple of different devices, and for some reason I never got into it. However, I loved the sequel, so maybe I just needed to give the first one a bit more time. I will say that it is one of the most highly regarded "modern" adventure games available right now.
Syberia is out in the US now. The game they released yesterday- Reincarnations:Back to Reality Collectors Edition is quite fun as well.
I agree that Syberia is one of the best adventure games ever, but unfortunately it has been cut up and butchered on the way to the iPad. The two games were originally released as Syberia and Syberia 2 (both full games are widely available for PC) but what is being released for iOS is: Syberia, Part 1 Syberia, Part 2 Syberia, Part 3 Syberia 2, Part 1 Syberia 2, Part 2 Syberia 2, Part 3 so each release is actually one-third of the game (and gameplay is not the same as the original). It saddens me not to be able to play Syberia on my iPad, but I will never purchase chopped up adventure games.
Why not? While Syberia did not exactly grab me when I played it on my XBox, chopping the game up should not really affect gameplay. How was the gameplay changed?
Well first of all, playing one-third of a game and then having to wait perhaps 6 months for the continuation to be released does not strike my fancy. Secondly, I can either purchase the full game for a certain price (let's say $4.99 iPad or $6.99 PC - which is the current price at BigFish) or I can pay for 3 separate "parts" of the game (total $14.97 iPad or $20.97 PC). Which would you choose? The only reason this game was chopped up is to charge 3 x the regular price. I will never support this practice no matter how much I want a game.
This is even worse than I thought, the fact that the game is split into 3 parts, not two. My best recollection of what I paid for the games at gog.com was around $5.99, and that was for a "Syberia bundle", which included the full versions of both Syberia 1 and Syberia 2.
Will just have to wait until the game goes on sale, as it inevitably will and then wait until all parts have been released.
It might just be because the whole game is 6GB and so with Apple's 2GB limitation per app, the developer had it chop it up that way...
No! Syberia (full) is 1.1GB http://www.bigfishgames.com/download-games/4665/syberia/index.html?src=frmtrygame&osdetect=true Syberia 2 (which has not yet been chopped up) is 1.3GB http://www.bigfishgames.com/download-games/4701/syberia-ii/index.html?src=frmtrygame&osdetect=true Unless on sale, the above games have always been sold separately.

Holy crap, because of this I found beyond atlantis one of my favorites. I wouldn't have even known so thank you for that. One question, how do a select to just show all third person adventures or if I just want to see first person adventures? It looks like I have alot of digging to do for some rare treasures.
Did a whole bunch of adventure games just come out? I see a boatload of stuff from Microids and Beyond Atlantis shows as updated june 6th I'm not sure if that was the release date or not. But all of a sudden it looks like a whole CATALOGUE of adventure games are now available for my enjoyment on the go, which is pretty exciting to me. I can see myself owning a couple dozen of them. This makes me hopeful/crossing my fingers for more games in the Myst series (3-5) and Uru. Pretty happy about this, now if we can just get some ports of seirra and sierra style point n clicks Ipod touch and Ipad will be my portable go to machine.
If you're talking about the FlexLists list, I don't think there is a way to filter unless you export the list to something like a spreadsheet first. You can click on the category column to sort by that, which would at least help a little bit. Microids tends to release a "new" game every month or so. They are basically just ports of older PC games, but at least it gives us something to play on our mobile devices.
ok. It's weird there is a free version with $3.99 unlock and a .99 version of beyond atlantis aswell. my free version 700 some MB stopped downloading after 80%. Wondering what's up with that, seems very unsorted and unproffesional. I would say not to expect any bug removing updates from them.
What do you mean by "stopped downloading"? Until it's on your device, any issues are with iTunes or your internet connection, not the application itself. Unless, of course, you got some weird error during the download process. I did have one time that I was downloading a game where the IPA had a bad image file in it, but I actually got a message saying that.
I'm kind of surprised that he didn't post it over here, but Forever Lost Episode 2 is scheduled for release on the App Store on June 27th.
I did but then the forum stopped me from posting too soon after another and I didn't notice Thanks for doing it for me though!
