Never got around to playing this one, though I think I might own a couple of copies of it. Maybe I'd actually try it if they ported it to the iPad.
Don't recall anyone mentioning this one: Ghost Towns: The Cats Of Ulthar Collector's Edition HD Ghost Towns: The Cats Of Ulthar Collector's Edition
I quite enjoyed this one, which was unusual for me lately. It doesn't have stellar graphics or sound, but was I liked it none-the-less. You play a detective in a small village trying to save a young boy from prison. There isn't a horror element to the game although there is some elemental magic. It is a mix of hidden object and "transport the object" (what is this type of gameplay called??). There is an integrated guide and a bonus chapter as well. On a separate subject, Eric, do you have an upcoming release calendar for G5e?
Funny you should say that, because I haven't gotten anything from them lately. I thought they had quite a bit of stuff cooked up for this year, but they've actually been pretty quiet the past few weeks. So I don't have to make too many posts right now, Chronos Salvation HD is currently free, though I'm not sure how long since it went free some time yesterday. Also, I played some of the free version of Cognition Episode 1 last night. That's the game that Jane Jensen consulted on. It's really cool so far. Definitely a more mature theme like Yesterday, and if you have little kids you'll want to headphone it due to some of the language. It's kind of like Treasure Seekers 4, except instead of traveling back in time you can just "look" back in time - hence the cognition thing - to get clues of where to look and what to do. The only thing I don't like so far is that there is a lot of loading involved, at least on my iPad 2.
There were a couple of times where the screen went black for a second or two, but nothing where it permanently froze on me. The game does seem like it could use some optimization, though.
From the Price Drops forum, Back to the Future Episode 1 is free for a http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/back-to-the-future-ep-1-hd/id419176153 I haven't played this one yet, does anyone have any impressions?
I did and I really liked it, despite not being a particular fan of the franchise. IMHO, it is well written, well-voiced and looks nice. I also really liked the Prohibition era setting. Puzzles are on the easy side, but fairly neat. It did occasionally stutter somewhat on my IPad 2, though. I fully intend to buy the rest of the episodes, once I clear some of my backlog.
Aw, you beat me to it. Oh well, I kept it in my list since I've got it linked as well. Here are a few more new games: Dinosaur Forest Escape Les Miserables - Cosette's Fate Insider Tales: Vanished in Rome Insider Tales: Vanished in Rome HD Hidden Objects Quest Under a Seering Sky Fantasy Horror Collection Royal Family Secrets: Hidden Mysteries Royal Family Secrets: Hidden Mysteries HD Escape: Death Island
Thanks, needed some new games! Les Miserables - Cosette's Fate looks like it could be fun, but I'm not sure about trusting Microids...have you played it? Insider Tales: Vanished in Rome looks like it wants you to buy the game and then pay for hints as well .
I have not tried Les Miserables because honestly, even though I liked XIII for the story I thought the interface was atrocious and the next 2D game I tried from them was just as bad. I prefer to stick to their adventure games. As for Insider Tales I noticed that, which is why I decided to stay away from that one as well. The truth is I can get enough of a fix between G5 and Big Fish that I don't worry about these other companies unless something really catches my eye.
Next Wednesday's game from BFG looks interesting -Fetch. www.fetchthegame.com Same developer as the Drawn series.
