Ha, I know what you mean. By the time I got to episode 3 of Hector, I was tired of reading the dialogue. I ended up skipping a lot of it. Just like TV shows, games need to end on a high note, and not drag on too long.

Edit: Btw, is it just me or was the second chess game a little screwy?

    State of Confusion!!
Wow, I really need to get my rear in gear and start playing Yesterday. You are all going to have it done before I even start. There are 2 new BFG games today

Family Vacation: California HD (iPad only, link to appshopper.com)

Shattered Minds: Masquerade Collectors Edition HD ( game is doing what Family Vacation did yesterday-"The item you tried to buy is no longer available". It will probably be up tomorrow morning.

Deadly Association HD from Microids is $.99 as well (link to appshopper.com)

Have a great night and/or holiday!

  3. Ok I seriously love this game. Finally got the safe open -- I love how this game thinks!

Longmire is great. I have heard it being compared to Jesse Stone which i have not watcHed nor read. I used to watch Psych when it aired back to back with Monk. It was great fun but I gave it up after a while. Same with Burn Notice. Not enough hours in the day to play games, read and watch TV. Then there's that little thing called "work" that gets in the way :)

Right now I'm trying to decide between Cursed Memories: Secret of Agony Creek and Shattered Minds Masquerade.

I finally finished Yesterday earlier tonight. Phenomenal. I love how every time there's a flashback you actually get to play the flashback. The only thing that bugged me was that at the very end there was a problem with the sound, so I missed some dialog. Of course I wasn't running off the release version, so that might not be an issue for anyone else.

I tried to do that with BFG and went beyond 10. I can't believe I've played so many. I do love the HOPA games as opposed to the heavy HOG ones. And not to sound sexist but a lot of the earlier iPad games seem geared towards female players. Some of more recent ones are less so.

Here are some of my favourite older games

    - Drawn series
    - Empress of the Deep series
    - Awakening series
    - Nick Chase series
    - Secret of the Dragon Wheel
    - Death at Fairing Point
    - Mystery Trackers: The Void

Also all the Mystery Case Files games are great - Dire Grove, 13th Skull. For the most part, the Collectors Editions tended to be winners.

I think the days of BFG's $0.99 sales are over :(. I'd load up even if they were $1.99-$2.99. Cross your fingers for a decent Labour Day sale.

Bought Deadly Associations. I don't generally like Microids/Anuman games but this one was only $0.99 and it's a crime/mystery storyline. It's not too bad so far but HOG heavy.

App, I'm currently playing as Yesterday. I'll keep chugging along:)

As for Books, depending on what you like I can recommend something to you. :)

Mystery Valley from BFG popped up on Appshopper this morning. It isn't on the UK app store. Is it showing in the US or Canada?

Nope. I had noticed that in AppShopper as well and was going to post about it here, but when I try to actually pull it up I get a message saying it is not currently available.

It's in the Canadian store. Showed up last night after midnight so technically this morning. Tried it but the graphics weren't great and too dark. Reviews on Gamezebo were mediocre at best. Think this one is a pass for me.

I decided to try Yesterday even though it's not my usual type of game. Great intro. I'm still trying to get used to the controls. I'm mainly a BFG HOPA gameplayer and that's what I'm used to. Well see how it goes.

I think so. That was pretty much all I played yesterday. It's got an interesting story, plenty of puzzles, and cool characters. The graphics are amazing and the sound isn't too shabby either.

I'll let you know when I finish. Haven't decided if its worth $6 yet:)

  17. Isn't it $5? ;)
And I have two games going. One that I'm playing through normally, and another that I'm using for just the walkthrough. I need to catch up with the walkthrough one.

As for books, I'm open to all sorts, but I particularly like ones that mess with your head. Not into shallow romances or any of that cheesy Nicholas Sparks stuff. I need these books to help me get trough the heat wave, so preferably something that moves at a fairly quick pace.

Whoeeeee. I knew being patient would pay off.

New BFG in Canadian app store:

    Puppetshow: Souls of the Innocent

It's a sequel to Puppetshow: Mystery of Joyville by ERS Games which for me is usually a guaranteed buy.

Now we're talking. This is one series that I really like, so assuming I don't already have this one for the PC I'll probably be picking it up when it comes state-side.
