I'm really looking forward to The Act. If it's the game I'm thinking of, I had read about it a while back, but I thought it was never coming out. I believe it was originally supposed to be a modern day laser disc game in the vein of games like Dragon's Lair (though obviously with a different theme).
I know The Act - this is not classic point&click adventure game. This is more like interactive movie (like Thayer's Quest, or Dragon's Lair). The Act was available in US on gaming machines (I mean the box where you have to drop a coin, to play - don't know if I know the good english name for this).
Arcade machine is the term you're looking for. While it certainly would be a game machine, the term 'gaming machine" is used more for consoles like XBox or Playstation 3. Congrats on the release of part 3 of Moonwalls, by the way.
Thank you for clarification Eric! I didn't play this game myself, but I read about it long time ago, on polish website about adventure games. Thank you for your congratulations Now I need to finish iPad version, then I start making a new game - I want to release a 3rd person perspective pixel art adventure, before the new year
So basically a Sierra style game? That would be incredible! I've always wanted to make one of those myself.
Yeah, pretty much But I have my own design of interface, and graphics (still pixel art, but in a different way).
Can't wait for that. If you ever want any input on where you're headed with it, you know how to contact me Of course, it's not like I'm the one that has experience making games
A couple of more "adventure-esque" games today: Yesterday by Bulkypix -link to TA forum James Noir's Hollywood Crimes by Ubisoft - link to TA forum Looking to making my credit card whimper tonight!
That is unfortunate, but thanks for the info. I never thought Apple was very forthcoming on details on what exactly is copied in an iCloud backup.
Not sure about the James Noir one, but I'm really looking forward to Yesterday. I ran across that one for the PC a while back but never bought it. It looks really interesting.
Thanks for the additional info. I hadn't seen much on this one and am very excited to play it. To echo everyone else, congratulations on your release! I hope that the sales make your bank account overflow with riches!
Thank you very much! I'm also looking forward to Yesterday. Hope that it will be better than the Paradise port, released by the same dev
I started the free version. Overall great game. However I am not a fan of having to trek back and forth so much. I would prefer to keep on moving forward vs finding an object and having to go back to where the game started to use it. No arrows, only sparkles. I've had to use the "hints" a few times due to lack of guidance. I haven't run into any issues thus far but maybe this is because I did not purchase the full version. Congrats Paul on the iPad! You won't ever go back! Lololol I no longer use my iPhone for any games other than WWF and angry birds haha
New games Behind the Reflection Behind the Reflection HD Simon and Mojo: Bath Time Paranormal 3D: Room 03 (iPad) The Pilgrim's Codex Not 100% sure I'd consider Paranormal 3D or The Pilgrim's Codex adventure games, and Simon and Mojo might be too simple except for young kids, but I'll leave that all up to the discretion of the readers
Promo code competition for Yesterday. It is very clever and loads better than just posting up promo codes for people to steal
