It will be interesting to see if Apple releases the usual batch of games for tomorrow. Not releasing them would almost seem an acknowledgement that there are issues with the App Store.
Ironically today has been the best day for me to download stuff that I've had in a while! I don't think anything has given me fits so far today, and I've already downloaded 13 games
I wouldn't expect that. Even though this problem was going on last week there was still a rather decent number of games released.
Okay, this is getting a bit ridiculous. Take a look at these two games, both of which are "new releases" this week: The Lost House Secret Mystery These are links to the AppShopper.com site, not iTunes. Not only are these the same game, but isn't this Father Simmons??? I'm beginning to think "Apple Quality Control" is as big an oxymoron as "military intelligence". Is there no stopping the developer of this game?
Yes, this is one game. The developer has several App Store accounts, with the same games (and also some rip-offs): SoftGamers: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/artist/softgamers/id366908874 Proton Games: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/artist/proton-games/id487976128 DollHouse Entertaiment: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/artist/dollhouse-entertainment/id495971288 Top Best Adult Entertaiment: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/artist/top-best-adult-entertainment/id463205704 If you want to fight with such unfair practices, please report this to Apple.
Didn't figure it was the same developer. I thought maybe others were re-publishing the game for him. I'm sure they are going to get sick of me soon, but I've contacted Apple with the details to see if there's anything they can do.
I'm sure you will be on first name terms with the whole team and exchange Christmas cards every year by the time you have finished
Maybe, but I'm sure that he makes money from all accounts. Previously he had few copies of Father Simons in his first account, but they were deleted.
All I know is that the game was buggy and barely playable in the first place, and It's pretty lousy thinking he might trick more people into buying it by "rebranding" it. I just hope the people that have already made the mistake of buying it once realize it's the same thing and don't accidentally buy it again.
I was really pysched for the release of the Father Simons game. It coulsdon have been a great game but he really has blotted his copybook. With all the forums dissing it he won't have a hope off selling it under different developer names and different app names
Well, he brought a lot of this grief on himself. We all tried to give him constructive criticism, but instead of applying it to make his current game better, he simply "learned from his mistakes" with his next game. Sadly, though, it sounds like that wasn't even true. I followed the thread on Alcatraz for a while, and the actual development cycle seemed awfully short, which means there probably wasn't a whole lot of QA. I mean the initial release came stock with a save slot that already had half the game solved for you! I even offered to help him beta test but he didn't seem interested.
I got the impression that he was quite young (don't know why). A lot of talent but too immature to really get somewhere. His future as a developer will hopefully be cut short if Apple decide to do the right thing(won't hold my breath though)
Hahahaha first time I've laughed all day! Is this dev for real??? He needs to be reported!! Lololol clearly he isn't very stable. And yes, I wasted money on his piece of junk game that he said would be updated to correct everything blah blah blah He decided to take another route and try to rip people off!
Hadn't really thought of that, but if he is then maybe he just needs to get straightened out a bit. I think there's some potential there, so I'd hate to see him get completely cut off, but he really needs to start working with people that know more than he does. I have reported him, but I'm not sure if I went about it the right way. We'll probably find out tomorrow.
On a different note, I thought everyone might find this thread in relation to our topic about downloading problems interesting: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3712134?tstart=0
Okay, so as I mentioned yesterday I reported SoftGamers. I used the Apple Service And Support link from iTunes, which I figured would be the wrong place, but I didn't know where else to take care of this. I actually did get a response back today and the tech gave me the proper link to go to. So I follow the link and in the midst of filling out the information I see a blurb stating that they generally do not reply to anything submitted through this form. Basically, I'll probably never hear if they're going to do anything or if they just think I was inappropriate for reporting it in the first place. What cracks me up, though, is that when I sent a reply back thanking the tech for the link, this was his response: "Eric, nothing makes Apple happier than to hear that we have pleased our customers". Now this is the same guy that had been "helping" me with the download issue. Does he really think I'm pleased? If I wasn't so tired of this I'd actually find this quite amusing.
New Big Fish Game-Journey of Hope free with IAP unlock. iPhone/iPod - http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/journey-of-hope/id485045096?mt=8 iPad - http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/journey-of-hope-hd/id485041897?mt=8 There are two more, but they are not adventure games-Fairway Solitaire and Frat House: The Perfect Score.
You need a closing bracket on your second URL to actually make it a URL I fixed it in my reply. Looks interesting, so I might just give it a try. By the way, I know it's been out for a while, but I've been playing Gardenscapes HD these past couple of days, and it's a whole lot of fun. I've actually beaten the game on my PC, but I think I'm going to play it through again on my iPad. It's a hidden object game under the guise of a rummage sale, and the objects you find earn you money to help restore the manor's magnificent garden.
