Both Spirit Of Wandering and Vampireville came out in the last week. I find it kind of funny that you're so glued to room escape games but are getting sick of HOGs, though. Personally, I find the latter a lot more entertaining. That's why it's "to each their own" I guess As far as I know you get to keep your progress if you go from free to full via IAP. That would really not be cool if you didn't.
New Game: The Scene of the Crime Two warnings: 1. This may not really be new. I don't remember if Pastel Games ever released it under their own name or not. 2. It's also a flash game, which you might be able to get for free. I can't remember. I seem to recall playing at least part of the Flash game, though, and it was somewhat interesting. If you have an iPad and a spare 99 cents it might be worth a go.
I have emailed Alawar to see what is going on with the IAP. I have two of their games which I bought via IAP. Download them from the cloud with no problems but when I go to buy the full version it says it is going to charge me. iTunes will do nothing as it is an IAP and they advise you to contact the developer. I will keep you updated Update. I received a reply saying that if I had previously purchased it then I shouldn't be charged again. I confirmed the purchase and it did indeed tell me I had already purchased it so all is good
Glad to hear this worked out for you. iTunes on the desktop used to be bad about that. It would never tell you that you had purchased an item, so if you thought you already owned it you had to click "buy" and hope it was going to come back and tell you that you just needed to redownload it. This was especially a problem if you had gotten the game when it was free or with a promo code, because you'd have no receipt to prove your purchase. Thankfully they took care of that a few revisions of iTunes ago, but I still don't think there's a way within iTunes to know if you've purchased IAP for a product or not (at least not without doing what you did).
This doesn't necessarily sound all that fun, but it looks cool, it's an adventure game, and it's free: Before The Storm
So just out of curiosity, what attracts you to Room Escape games? Other than the very beginning and end they really have no story!
Will be real interested to know. Even though I'm positive I played it I don't remember finishing it, and I was thinking about dropping the buck on it anyway. If nothing else the art style looks pretty cool.
Please do play it bc either it keeps freezing on me or I am incredibly stupid. It makes me start over too!!
The starting over doesn't surprise me. I had a different iOS adventure game that was published by Pastel Games (actually under their own label) that didn't have a save either. I'll check it out this weekend.
Are you being serious or sarcastic? Sometimes it's hard to tell with the big grin! Assuming you're talking about Before The Storm it is an iPhone game (not universal, either).
I was actually talking about Scene of the Crime -- can't find it anywhere. Before the Storm was cute. Pretty easy, but for an educational game, I'm impressed. Cute characters
And freezes, and makes you start over and lacks a help button..... Did you make any progress? Im curious to know if I'm missing something.
Actually, I haven't bought it yet. Last night I went out to dinner right after work, came back from dinner and crashed and didn't get up until 7:00 this morning. Been busy doing other stuff today. I will check it out some time today, though.
