It seems to me like they only included the achievement eggs and not the secret ones.

    Can anyone confirm??

Haha. Don't speak so soon. After halfway through, the puzzles start becoming twitch based.

Am I alone in thinking that Limbo is grossly over-rated? It is by no means a bad game...it's probably a solid 4/5 in my books, but I do not understand the fascination of the press and hardcore gamers with Limbo.

    What did I miss?

I actually TOTALLY loved the first 1/3 of the game, where you are in nature and encounter the spiders and what-not. However, to me, the moment it went into the city and factory, the game took a turn for the worse. Play with switches, gravity...and the puzzles get tedious.

So yeah, assuming if there were no reviews of Limbo out there, I would have said this was a good above-average game. I'd never have classified it as "OMG must-buy totally brilliant game".

Alright many of the things it does have been done before but the finesse of the animation and the subtlety of atmosphere is unlike almost anything else out there. It takes an awful lot of time and skill to polish something that seems simple to this extent. That's why it's unusual, relatively rare and why it's highly regarded. Just my opinion ;)

I hadn't played it before I got my hands on the iOS version, even thou I have bought it before, and really ashamed I didn't play it until now! There's something pure about it (the puzzles) that any "gamer" really needs to experience it. Which you have. Stop now if you aren't enjoying it! It's meant to be fun :p

Above all, I think it is the quality of puzzles. That's the meat of the gameplay after all. Attention to detail is outstanding, particularly with aspects that aren't apparent at first glance. (For example, the way the process of secret egg collecting is designed to prepare you for the secret level challenges, just enough for them to not feel completely overwhelming when you arrive.) And on a purely gut level, this game has taken me places, emotionally, that gaming in general is rarely able to approach.

I agree though that the thematic promise of the first third of the game isn't sufficiently explored or delivered on by what follows.

While Limbo remains a solid enough game throughout, it is generally accepted that it switches gears and starts to lose steam once the giant spider is finally dealt with. I don't know anybody who looks on the latter stages of the game as fondly – or even remembers them as clearly – as the early ones in the forest, and it's a pity that Playdead weren't able to keep the quality consistent, something the developers themselves have lamented.

I'd argue it's now like quite a lot of games out there, although most of the games it's like took inspiration from Limbo itself.

+1 to this. It did become less stellar after the Spider, but the game still has enough interesting things through the end that made it a 5-star to me.

Get a job so that you can afford it. You've posted both here and in the Nihilumbra thread over in Price Drop forum suggesting that somebody else should buy this game and gift it to you. Don't do that.

First of all I can't get a job at this age.And second in the country where I live there is no App Store of that country. So I have to use another country's App Store. That's the very reason I can't buy or purchase apps.Otherwise I would have bought this beautiful game on it release!
So if you still have any other suggestion for me I would love to hear!

I meant the puzzles (lifts, gravity, pushing and pulling things to manipulate the environment etc) not the way it looks.

But yea it's very Badlandsy in some of the shapes / silhouettes. Really love them both!

EDIT (mild spoiler but I'm on TA app so can't add tag I think?):-
Oh yeah and those rotating levels...! Reminded me of the things I tried to make in Little Big Planet!

    Disappointed

I saw that Limbo just released an update, so the developers are definitely ruling out making game compatible with ipod 4G ??

Thats a shame- they will loose a sizable audience who own iphone 4 and ipod 4G devices- all because they wont try to optimize it for older devices.
I have many bigger games than this that play well on ipod touch 4G so am disappointed these guys couldnt make it playable on 4g
    oh well...

While I don't have a 4G anymore, I'm also kind of disappointed. I know this is a game that my kids would absolutely LOVE.... but they've got an iPhone 4, an iPod 4 and an iPhone 4S. So... oh well...

Guess they'll just have to wait until we can upgrade again. =oP

Now I know why there is so much hype about this game.I don't have an Xbox but this is one of the best games I played on my iDevice.
Although controls are a little odd for me.But the atmosphere of the game and simplicity really won mummy appreciation!!!

Well I'm not with him.Its actually a great game.I haven't played the Xbox version so I don't know where it stands in comparison with it but to offer a game made for Xbox on mobile device and making it so deep.I actually enjoyed this game.
The only problem is that iPhone 4 isn't compatible! But no bigge I got an iPhone 5 too!
